The next day, in France, The Protectors touched down at first light. Zavant had prepared a driver to take them directly to the place where the High Priestess was hidden. The interior of the limo was invisible to the driver, so Zavant had no problem in creating a portal back to his office, where the group could change from their civilian clothes to their suits,

"Ready?" Zavant asked, squatting in the limo, blue helmet held under his arm,

"As I'll ever be," Grayson replied, pulling the hood over his head, "are you sure that they're still there?"

"Certain, I can see our four dots heading towards their four,"

Grayson nodded, but became very concerned when he saw the blood drain from Zavant's face,

"What's wrong?" Grayson asked,

"Absolutely nothing," Zavant replied calmly, closing off the portal as Zachary stepped through,

"You just left the other two behind, there's obviously something up," Grayson remarked, "What's wrong?"

"It's just like the plan," Zavant replied, "the one where we send those two back so that Samantha's plan of looking for a group of five fails,"

"Wha-" Grayson almost said, but then he caught the look on Zavant's face,

"It's almost surprising that she wouldn't have stationed anyone at the airport," Zavant said cordially, as if speaking about the weather, "a wonder that nobody knows that we are here,"

He pressed a button on his watch, sending out a very weak EMP. None of the electric parts of the car were affected, but the cameras and microphones that surrounded them short circuited, for only a couple of seconds,

"I just got a text from the limo company," Zavant whispered, "they're wondering when we're going to show,"

That's when it all clicked in Grayson's head. He realised what Zavant had been talking about. There had been four dots in the car, and since there were only three people with powers, that meant that the driver was a BlackHeart cultist. The werewolves only emitted the signature when they were transformed, so that meant,

"So the driver's a-" Zachary was cut off by Grayson, who clamped his hand around Zachary's mouth, stopping him from finishing the sentence,

Slowly, painstakingly, the divider that separated the driver from the passengers opened. As it creaked, the flustered face of the driver poked through, red with effort and frustration,

"Did you guys do anything to the cameras?" The man asked, "They're there to make sure my limo isn't damaged,"

Zavant was confused. The man was obviously not a werewolf, but that could only mean one thing,

"Wasn't there a couple of women back there?" the driver demanded, "what the hell is going on. Were you going to dip without paying me?"

Realisation dawned on their faces, further infuriating the driver,

"Fuck you guys, get out!" He shouted,

A bullet punched through the roof, blasting right through the driver's head. As he slumped into the passenger seat, the roof was clawed open, the icy morning air streaming through as a werewolf dropped down, reverting to human form,

"I didn't think that you would stoop to becoming a werewolf," Zavant said angrily, "never thought you would be the type, Abigail,"

Bjorn's daughter turned to face the group, pulling the car into a space alongside the road,

"I had to find out how she brought my father back," Abigail shot back, "after you broke his mind, Adam,"

Abigail was nearly forty, and had aged well. Rigorous fighting training had kept her in perfect shape, and the powers of the werewolf had pushed her beyond human boundaries.
