It was weird, having that name on your wrist, you thought, rubbing it.
You were currently sitting at a cafe, chatting with a group of friends. You glanced down at your wrist again, seeing the name that had appeared that morning.
"C'mon (y/n) let me see!" Exclaimed one friend, Raf, who forgot all about his shake and reached for your wrist, seeing you trace the name unknowingly.
With a small squeal, the arm was held high above your head as the boy reached even higher for it. It didn't help at all that you were sitting and at this height Raf was almost the same as you.
Miko, one of your other friends gasped. "You already got it?!"
And she began to reach for it too.
The only other friend, Jack, calmly sipped his milkshake, not bothering to help you with your, ahem, little problem as he had already gone through it.
Earlier this year, his eighteenth birthday has passed, and, as with tradition, the name of his soulmate appeared a month from the date. But the weird thing was, yours appeared the day after your eighteenth.
And that only meant-
"He's close by!" Miko screamed, literally crawling on top of you to get to your wrist.
Jack, by this time, had noticed that you were being crushed by the weight of two human beings on your own body. He pried them off, thankfully being much taller than them thanks to his growth spurt, and set them down in their seats before returning to his milkshake. Miko began to climb again as a way to get to you, but was stopped with the heat of Jack's glare.
She huffed, crossing her arms and leaning back in her chair.
"I don't see why you don't wanna show us (y/n)." she pursed her lips.
Jack took a sip of his shake before looking fondly at his wrist. You all had seen the name on his wrist, and you had wished for months to be as happy as Jack was whenever he looked at his name. But strangely, you weren't.
"You were anxious to get it for months. Why won't you show us?" He asked.
You bit your lip, moving some bracelets from the name so you could see it clearly.
Most tattoos had a first and last name, and most tattoos had somewhat normal sounding names. They had some things to make them clearer, like middle initials, and you had even heard of some having four middle names. But yours, it took the cake.
You were hesitant to show it to people, because who in the heck had a name like Smokescreen?

The name had finally showed up.
The fragging name had finally shown just below his servo. It wasn't as if he was impatient, no, it was because it had been vorns past the time he was supposed to get his name.
But why was it so weird?
The name was supposed to be the happiest moment is his life. The way tradition went was that based on how far away your soulmate was, that'd be how soon or late the name would show.
His must have appeared while he was in forced stasis on that Decepticon warship, because it wasn't there before he was knocked out, but it was after he had destroyed the ship.
It was almost as exciting as meeting a Prime.
Most mechs he knew usually didn't get to ever meet the name below their servos, because they were in the middle of a war, and time couldn't be wasted finding the love of your life when it could be spent fighting.
