It was a dark and eerie night, not a whisper nor a chirp of a cricket could be heard. It was just silent and this wasn't usual for this part of Slige Town but nobody cared, besides this was even an advantage so everyone could get a goodnight sleep without the disturbances of those chirping crickets. But you can't expect everybody to be dead asleep. Of course there's always that one teenager and for this town it was Leila. She was a chilled sixteen-year old, pretty much just starting to discover what's more to life. She lay on her bed scrolling through TikTok videos at 2 am and just when she had decided to turn off her phone and try to get some sleep that's when it all started. She tossed and turned around her bed trying to get that comfortable position but all these came to a stop when she suddenly heard the sound of an engine of a bus as it came to a halt. By how loud the engine sound was she could guess that bus was not far from her house. Leila then got up from her bed and approached her bedroom window to have a look outside and she was not wrong, she saw a bus parked directly opposite their house by the roadside and to top it all of, it was a school bus. "But why would there be a school bus out at this hour," she asked herself and assumed that whole thing and went back to bed. An hour later when she had already slept, she was woken by this breeze like wind and she was cold. She opened her eyes and was left confused for a moment there. She found herself standing outside in the cold and not just anywhere outside but in front of this mysterious school bus. Panic was written all over her face and she just knew something wasn't right firstly because she has never sleepwalked and second because why of all places just Infront of this spooky bus. Leila decided to brush that feeling and turned around to go back to her house but just as she was about to reach the door she suddenly heard the bus engine ignite and the front lights shone across the road. Leila stared at that bus for a second there her heart pounding against her chest. " Whoever's there, this isn't funny," she said bending down to get a rock and just at that moment the bus was turned off and everything was dark again. With the little light that shone from the moon, Leila could clearly see the bus door fly open and the bus itself shook as if someone was walking in there. Leila stood rooted to the ground and froze like in some sort of paralytic shock. She couldn't move at all. Whoever was in the bus came to a stop upon reaching the bus door and now Leila could clearly see a tall figure of a man as he alighted the bus and approached Leila. His face was hidden and he suddenly pulled out an axe from his back swinging it in the air and walking faster towards Leila. Leila finally got a hold of herself and could move but just as she had turned around to run into the house, she felt this sharp stinging pain on her back and screamed. She then collapsed on the ground, an axe fixed to her back with blood oozing. The tall figure reached her and pulled the axe from her back and with one mighty strike, he chopped off Leila's head and killed her in cold blood. What could be heard next was the sound of the bus' engine as it drove away.
