Day 4

Saturday

Saturday's were always the worst. People seemed to be more careless and disgusting on Fridays afternoon and I cleaned the morning after.
But the last day of the month also meant pay check so it'll just do.
In my blue uniform I went in the storage room where all my cleaning stuff was. I took all my stuff an headed toward the toilets like every morning.

At 11 am, I just finished cleaning the office when it was time to get my paycheck because if I waited tonight I wouldn't eat for lunch and for the past two days I've been eating with Ben the only person who dared to socialize with me after knowing my condition.
Ben was a member of Community Ministry. We usually ate together at the end of the month, but it was more like he fed me at the end of the month.
I was really grateful for having him being my only friend if I can call him that, he is also the only contact in my flip phone with a normal name, I got it when Ian changed his phone. I never bothered asking for another before and I certainly wouldn't right now, I mean it was working and it was a terminator phone so yeah.

As I walked to put my stuff back in the storage room my phone rang.

Krist Off

I groaned loudly putting my stuff down.

" Chris ? "

" Lili come up to my office please. "

"Okay"

I said trailing the 'o'.

I took the elevator not really wanting to climb the 4 levels stairs.
I checked my face in the mirror to look presentable but scrunched up my nose not really happy with my low ponytail and blue attire. But I shrugged that off as the elevator came to an halt.
I knocked on his door and waited.

" Come in ! "

I pushed the door open and suited myself in one of the seats that fronted his desk.

" You wanted to see me ? Because I surely wanted to ask you something."

" Yes Lili I need you to replace Linda next week. "

I thought for a second or two and the first question that came to mind was

" Will I get paid more ? "

" Ugh yeah Lil but you still have to clean here the morning."

" What ? It's gonna be on afternoons ? And don't call me Lil you know I don't like that."

" Yes I'll give you the address and details and all that stuff tomorrow at home.
What was that you wanted to ask me about ? "

" Can I get my paycheck now ? Instead of tonight ? "

" Yeah ask the receptionist she's got it.
And tell Anna you're leaving she might give you instructions to do at home or whatever. "

" Yeah as you said whatever. "

And I left his office without another word.
This time I took the stairs for one level it should be okay. I hurried down and quickly knocked on the door not waiting for an answer this time.

" I'm leaving ! "

Ready to leave again this time I got cut off.

" Wait Lili. "

I rolled my eyes at her voice.

" Yes Anna ? "

" Will you do dinner tonight we have someone over but only for three "

" But I-"

" You won't eat with us tonight sorry "

" I let you a note on the refrigerator, you can go now."
