Spencer's POV:
I watch the band get ready, they all seem happy. Since the break up with Nadia shows haven't been the same. I haven't told them. I don't really want sympathy, it never feels right. It's weird without Nadia here. She would always cheer me on before shows, even if she wasn't here she would call, text. Something, but now it's just an empty space, something that I'm waiting for that'll never happen again.
"Spencer?... you good dude?" Ricky said.
"Yeah, I'm fine."
"You sure?"
"Jesus Christ yeah I'm fine..." I walk over to the stage entrance. That meant, he's my friend. I shouldn't have picked up my tone with him.
The staff tells us everything is ready and I walk out.
I put on my best grin and started the show...Seeing the fans faces helped, the psychos always cheered me up. I tried my best to give them the show they paid for but it was clear something was off.
The people on Reddit already had the idea about Nadia and I. We both stopped posting about each other a while ago. But then again that isn't enough to make a real theory.
During *A Grave Mistake* I catch eyes with someone I could've sworn I've seen before. I stared at him for longer than then I intended to as he noticed and chucked. I fumbled my words. I know these songs by heart, how did I mess it up? The crowd couldn't tell but the band could, Ricky shot me a side eye from across the stage. 'Well that's great' I thought to myself.
At the end of the show I decided to go to the bar. I'm not the biggest fan of Alcohol but what the hell, maybe if I drown myself in alcohol all my problems will go away. I sit down and ask the bartender for whatever he prefers. I hear a voice to my left- "Dude that was killer show you played" "Oh thanks! That's really nice of you to say" I say with a smile.
Luke's POV:
Me and my mates walked into 'The Rebel Lounge'. We are to play in the Arizona area tomorrow, so I thought we should stop by to see who is playing Rebel. I sit down at the bar, and order a drink. I ask the bartender "Who's playing tonight?" He reply's "I think it's Ice Nine Kills". I say shocked "Really? I would think they'd be playing a bigger audience" He shrugs. They eventually come onto stage, and I lock eyes their lead singer, I awkwardly grin and wink. Why did I do that?
Afterwards, he walks up to me and takes a seat at the bar. I say "Dude, that was a killer show you played!" Is that weird to say? I have never once questioned that once. Its fine. "Oh Thanks! That's really nice of you to say" he says with a smile. "Can I buy you a drink?" Okay. That's weird. "Sure" he says. "What do you say?" I ask. "What do you get?" He asks me. "I take a martini" I tell him, He says "Sounds good to me". He gets his martini, and I ask him. "So, I've wanted to ask you, what are your favorite musicians? Your music, It's very original and I've been wondering." He responds "I like Nirvana." That spreads a smile to my face. We go on and on, hour after hour talking about music, laughing about every shitty band that plays afterwards. Eventually, he asks him if I want to stay the night at his place. How could I say no?
