Walking through the grass, breeze brushing against her cheek, a faint, light smile spreads across her face. The flowers brush against her ankles, the sun light casting across her figure as she took a breath, inhaling and exhaling.
The feeling of light fingertips on her shoulder caught her attention. A boy, quite taller than her approached her. The girl smiled, turning towards the boy.
They smiled at each other, taking in each other's presence. The boy interrupted by placing his hand on her head, picking what appeared to be a flower petal out of the girls hair.
The girl looked at him, a confused expression on her face, before her cheeks were painted a faint, rosy shade of red. This left the boy to giggle softly, ruffling her hair in a playful manner.
Before the girl could react, she felt something soft, something fluffy rub against her ankle. She looks down, her gaze landing on a beautiful white cat. She stares in awe, crouching down and reaching to pet the cat.
The cat purred, warming her heart in the process. While the boy took notice in the girls interest for the cat, he crouched down with her, placing his hand above the girls, eyes meeting hers as they stared at each other.
The girl smiles warmly, her heart racing. The boy showered her with compliments, making her react almost automatically.
The girl picks up the cat, holding it gently in her arms, walking over to a bench and sitting down. The boy follows right behind her, sitting beside her.
As the girl talked and talked about how glad she was to have him, how he made her happy, how much she cared for this cat they found, she looks over, just to find that the boy.. The boy she had been talking about, the boy that was with her, was gone.
The air grew cold, and the cat jumped out of her arms, running off and disappearing. The sky grew gray, clouds overlapping the sun. The grass was dead, the flowers, as well.
She was abandoned.
