Meera

The library was one of my dreams, so subtle yet regal. He wants to take me to his office and I am thinking of taking him to our NGO afterwards if he agrees.

I changed into a white suit and matching pants with a pink satin top underneath the blazer and nude heels. Tying my hair into a ponytail and spritzing my cologne on my pulse points I was all ready.

I looked at the anklets I just took off and the moment replayed in my mind. The way his touch and proximity affect me is insane. My heart starts thudding at lightning speed. I'm good at masking it up right now but I am not sure if the same would happen when we get married.

Shrugging my thoughts I descended from the stairs and my gaze fell on the man who looked devilishly hot in his formal wear. He lifted his eyes to meet mine and our eyes locked. His intense stare made my stomach unleash a whole army of butterflies.

I walked out with him and he opened the car door for me. I settled in the passenger seat and he jogged to his side. We drove towards the office in a swift manner.

Would you mind if we stopped at Hopes after your office? I asked him. His attention was undivided and towards the road but he responded, firstly, it's not my office, it's ours from now on. And secondly, you don't have to ask me for anything but just state it directly.

I smiled at him but my smile faltered the next moment when he asked, What made you think about starting these NGO's Meera?

I closed my eyes and the only answer that came to my mind was, so that no other lady ends up in the same fate as Shreya. I let it go and spoke with a sigh.

You know I told you I have some demons of my own, this is one of them and don't worry you will come to know everything about me once the time for that comes, I spoke gazing out of the window.

I didn't look back at him until the car came to a standstill and he opened the door for me. The building stood tall in all its glory and a sudden sense of pride washed over me when I thought of the hard work my fiancé and family would have put in to bring it here.

He walked two steps behind me which is a rule for the royal families. The King always walks a couple of steps behind the Queen to ensure her safety and security. Time stilled when we entered in, everyone that was present in the reception area was looking at us.

I stole a glance towards Yash to find his entire demeanour changed. His face had turned tough and his eyes stood devoid of any emotion. Everyone greeted us and we replied in curt nods.

We took the elevator to reach the thirtieth floor. The lift pinged open and he walked behind me once again. We passed through a lobby and there were cabins for everyone, Maa Sa, Baba Sa, Abhi, Dadu Sa and him.

His steps came to a stop when we arrived in front of his cabin and he opened the door for me. There stood a man probably in his twenties with a small smile and a bouquet of roses.

Good afternoon ma'am, he professionally greeted me and passed a nod to Yash. He handed me the bouquet and said, ma'am there's an extra cabin adjoining this one which is vacant. Please take a look at it and tell me what you require, and we'll get it designed the way you want.

I nodded at him and he passed me an iPad, and a pen and left. Yash said the same and got busy with a call that he had to take. I sat on the couch and thought for a few minutes before scribbling on the screen.

The office is designed in rustic tones, modern, functional, comfortable and elegant. I decided to go for the same aesthetic as well. A desk in white and a swivel chair in the same, done with the essentials.
