Surprise!

Chapter 11

When Reba and Narvel got home that afternoon, Narvel carried Reba to the couch sense she was tired from her busy, yet exciting day. She felt the baby move for the first time durning the ultrasound, Narvel saw it on the screen and got confused so the doctor had to explain what had happened, after that Narvel wouldn't keep his hand off of her stomach when the ultrasound was over.

Reba was basically asleep except for the few words she occasionally mumbled, which had to do with food or sleep. Narvel thought it was adorable the way her hair fell on her face and she would try to shake it off in her sleep.

He gently laid her down and ran to his room to put the new blankets and pillows he got on the bed. He was going to surprise her by laying her on the bed to see of she would notice a difference. Narvel was so excited that he could barely contain it, he had actually bought something with his own money that they both could enjoy together.

Once everything was perfectly set up, Narvel jogged into the living room to get Reba, she was still passed out on the couch. He gently scooped her up and carried her to his room then laid her down on the bed. Narvel was standing there smiling at her, waiting for her to notice. Reba let out a groan "Why is our bed so hard?" She complained as she tried to get comfortable. Narvel's smile fell and his heart jumped to his throat....it wasn't comfortable for her. "I'm sorry Reba, I got a new mattress, it bigger, I thought we could use more room" he told her. "I'll gladly go get the old one." Narvel said, Reba sat up "You weren't comfortable in our old mattress?"she asked concerned. Narvel had always given her more room and he always slept on the couch after she went to bed and before she woke up so Reba didn't know how bad it was for him. "Yes I was."he lied, "I'll call dad to bring the old one back." he added "No Narvel I'm sorry." she felt awful "This was very expensive and you did it just for me. I'm sure the mattress just needs broken in." Reba said as she pulled Narvel down beside her and laid her head on his chest. Narvel in return kissed the top of her head and wrapped his arms around her "Wanna take a nap to start breaking it in?" He asked "I have a better idea than that" Reba straddled him and leaned down, kissing him deeply...
