The courtyards
It was a bright sunny summer day in London. The evergreens were flourishing and flowers were in bloom. You would find Claude and his newly engaged bride Rosemary walking arm in arm she chatted quite a lot and Claude just nodded pretending he was listening."I think we should have five kids it would be a perfect mix between us." Unlike him she was actually quite excited about the engagement news like many others she had liked him for years. "Yes yes my lady whatever you say." She frowned looking over at him noticing he wasn't even paying attention.
"You know you could at least pretend to like me..if we're going to be together forever and all."
Claude just scoffed under his breath shaking his head. "Who said anything about that?" He then proceeded to fake yawn taking his arm away from hers.
"So it's like that is it?" Rosemary was a dreamer she'd always thought she would marry her Prince then live happily ever after in a big mansion on a hill obviously those thoughts were crushed in an instant.
"It's nothing Rosemary just physical contact isn't my sort of thing you get it right." But she didn't get it and just took that as his rejection and her heart grew dark. "Well I'm your wife, so the least you could do is grant me that." Claude nodded along not agreeing just pacifying her like a child which just made her even more irritated.
"Listen Claude I actually really enjoy my time with you." She tried to take his hand and he pulled it away causing her to take a deep breath in. "For the sake of both of our futures can you please try to love me."
Her desperation was so sad. He didn't know what to say, so he just stayed quiet continuing to walk. There was no way that he would ever love her the way he loved Christina.
He could try to respect her, but it would never be the same.
