Chapter 1.

I shivered at the touch of my skin and the cold metal seats colliding. It was 11 PM and my best friend Landyn and I are headed to Hawaii for a few days.

I hated the airport, there's never really anything to do when you're waiting for your flight. About half an hour later, a lady on the intercom spoke "Flight 631 to Maui please proceed to gate 13. Flight 631 to Maui please proceed to gate 13".

"Finally!" Landyn stood up from her chair really fast that I thought the chair was going to break. We carried our bags with us and started walking.

Once we boarded the plane and were about to take off, the flight attendant (who looked extra cheerful to me, it was scary) asked us to shut the windows. It was weird but whatever. Landyn and I talked for a bit until she got bored of me and started reading, I on the other hand started watching a movie.

You know how flight attendants offer you something to drink or peanuts to eat? Yeah two and a half movies later, none of that happened. I pushed the button over my head to call the flight attendant and guess who it was, the extra cheerful one. "Good evening Madame," she smiled. "How may help you?" she leaned forward - still smiling. It creeped me out to be completely honest.
"Uhhhh..." I read her name tag, "Susan, can I have some water?
"Madame, we will be serving drinks in a few" she smiled and walked away. Creepy much.

And by a few, she meant half an hour later. This is unhealthy, I can imagine how dehydrated the other passengers were. Susan handed us a clear liquid - which I'm 100% sure isn't water. Landyn and I looked at each other when she handed them to us and not to mention, her hands, with perfectly painted nails (it made me jealous) were cold as fuck. "Susan, may ask what drink is this?" Landyn questioned.
Susan hesitated, still smiling though, "A refreshment, now enjoy!"

I opened my eyes confused because one - I didn't even know I fell asleep, two - everyone around me is peacefully sleeping and three - what is going on?

I silently looked around and watched for anyone awake because I don't think everyone being asleep is a coincidence. As I was about to tap Landyn's shoulder, Susan walks up to me, "Ma'am is everything okay?" she said concern lacing in her tone. You would think that she had a frown on her face but nope, still smiling. I'm starting to think that she has no other emotion or facial expression, "Do you need a drink?"

"Yes that would be nice, thanks" Susan left to the back room or whatever that room filled with food and gossiping flight attendants is called. She came back with the same clear liquid she gave me earlier, it is quite nice but I only drank half of it. Something was telling me "Harlow, you shouldn't" but another part is saying "Harlow, you should" I took the drink from Susan's cold hands and downed it.The cold liquid felt good against my dry throat but within minutes I could already feel my eyelids getting heavier.

If Harlow sounds bitchy, please ignore it. She's someone who tends to overthink things. So yeah.
