Hello, everyone, and welcome back to Between Daggers & Oaths, once known as Devil of the Spire.
This was my first ONC to write, and I am incredibly proud. I made it through the first round, the second, and, surprisingly, the third. It was a cherry on top when Devil won Ambassador's Pick! I was even MORE surprised when it was SHORTLISTED. I never thought this little story would take me so far, but it did.
Months later, it is finally being revised into a full-length novel. You'll notice there are a lot of changes! Lord Kiernan is now Lord Alaric of Zospery, a wealthy island port that neighbors Sigyn. Ilaria is no longer some nameless girl but the PRINCESS of Sigyn.
Oh, and there are no soulmate connections. I'm sorry, I couldn't get it to work in the rewrite.
There will be callbacks to the original draft, such as mangoes, golden-eyed men, and the things that lurk in the shadows.
It's been a long time coming, but she deserves some much-needed attention. I hope you enjoy Ilaria and Alaric's new direction in this story!
