*Third POV*
*9 years later*

The sound of sword clashing was all that could be heard from the training ground as the bone-chilling Clarisse La Rue and the beloved Alemae De La Rosa were training. Everyone from camp was watching even the new camper. The reason this was so exciting was that these two demigods hadn't fought before and they were camp half-blood's best fighters.

"Who are they?" Percy asked Luke who was next to him.
"The one there." Pointing to Clarisse " That's Clarisse La Rue daughter of Ares. And that one there." Pointing to Alemae. " That there is Alemae De La Rosa unclaimed but lives in the big house. She's been here the longest. Chiron found her in the woods when she was only 5." Percy just nodded and turned towards the pair.

Alemae looked like she was losing but that was only part of her game. When Clarisse went to strike Alemae kicked her in the ankle then started wrestling with her on the floor until she ended up on top of Clarisse with her sword to her neck. Clarisse tried to get up but couldn't so she tapped out.

Everyone cheered as they both got up.
"You ok?" Alemae asked as Clarisse winced as she got up.
"Just a bit sore. You got me good princess but you won't be so lucky next time."
"Oh, I'm counting on it." Alemae winked and walked off leaving the daughter of Ares speechless. It was often that Alemae's flirtatious nature made an appearance which made people think she was a daughter of Aphrodite but she wasn't like all of the other children in Cabin 10 so that was ruled out.

"Alemae." A voice called out to her. She turned and looked at Luke and the new camper.
"Hey, Luke who's this." She said pointing to the boy next to him.
"This is the boy who killed the Minotaur, Percy Jackson. Percy this is Alemae De La Rue she's the camp's best swordswoman."
"Thanks for that." She said sarcastically "Anyway I have to go see you around." And with that, she walked off.
"I thought you were the best swordsman in camp?" She heard Percy ask Luke.
"Key word Percy swordsman she's the best in camp I'm second but she's good at everything."

"Hey, Chiron can I please play in today's game? I never play." The girl pleaded.
"Alemae you know we can't. It would be an unfair game." Chiron told her like he did every time. He winced as he remembered the last time she played the game. She's the reason he makes sure that he's far away from the woods.
"Sorry I didn't mean to it was the adrenaline and in my defence, you were wearing blue." She spoke putting her hands up in defence.
"I know dear child. Come on we need to get the games started." He spoke walking out of the conservatory with the girl following. They entered the dining pavilion and all heads turned to them once the conch had sounded. "Hero it's time."

"The game begins. The first team to retrieve the opposing flag and return it across the river shall be the victor. As always, there will be no maiming and no killing. I trust these rules will be respected. Any magical items you may possess, are permitted as well. Every camper who is not injured has to play." Alemae looked around and saw Clarisse entering. Clarisse looked over at the girl who just gave her a small nod. She then looked over at the blue side and saw Percy looking around confused.
"Prisoners may be disarmed. But may not be bound or gagged." Everyone was silent. "LET THE GAMES BEGIN." With that, a camper sounded the conch and Alemae, Chiron and Mr.D went back to the big house.

When they entered the girl went straight to her room which was next to the conservatory. As she opened the door fie was on the bed. "Hey, girl." She spoke softly and went over to the bed and sat on the floor, fie same and curled up on her lap. They stayed there for a while. That was until they heard screaming.  The young girl jumped up and rushed outside and saw that the blue team won. She looked over at Clarisse she looked angry. Then looked behind the daughter of Ares and just managed to catch Annabeth pushing Percy in the water she was gonna go and help him. That was until she saw the symbol of Poseidon above his head. She saw Luke and Clarisse looking at her. They know how she feels about this. Watching hundreds of demigods getting claimed and yet she's still unclaimed. She began to walk back to the big house. She couldn't stand and hear Chiron say that same thing as he usually does.

As she entered the house she slammed the door shut and slid down the door and started to cry. Why her? Why is she unclaimed? Did she not please her parent? I'd they not care? All of this was running through her brain. After an hour there was a knock at her door. "Mae can I come in." She heard the daughter of Ares ask.
"Go away." She screamed not wanting the same lecture as always.
"Mae please." She now heard the son of Hermes ask. After a few minutes, she reluctantly opened the door. Her two best friends came in and hugged her.
"Why me? Why does it have to be me?" She cried. She knew her friends couldn't answer. "I have been here nine years. Why haven't I been claimed? Am I not good enough?" She cried into the arms of her two best friends.
"Mae you are good enough." The brown-haired girl next to her said.
"Mae you are so go you overwork yourself too much." The boy said. She couldn't take it. She just cried. And that was ok with her friends. She had been there the longest and they felt bad for her. They stayed in that position all night.
