I shook my head in disbelief. That was just my imagination, right? I wave my hands around to make the steam disappear. Nothing. Was I... Daydreaming - Is it because of the alcohol? An additional set of questions formed in my head. Like I didn't already have enough questions.
I put on my comfort playlist. Hopping in the shower, the heat of the shower running over my body. Try to calm myself down. As I tried to listen to the playlist all the questions kept running through my head like a treadmill unable to stop. How did this all happen to me in one night? One night that I can't even fucking remember. Giving myself another 20 minutes before getting out.
Stepping out of the shower, I grab my stuff and start doing my skincare and make-up. My music suddenly stops and goes back to my familiar ringtone. I picked up without thinking, not looking at what name was flashing on the screen.
'Hello adorable Ocean.' I hear softly from the other line. Confused, I looked up at my phone.
'Ehm. Hello?' I hear a slight chuckle.
'You don't remember anything do you?' I could hear her voice better now... a woman. Was she the one from the picture? Her voice was firm, but comforting at the same time. She sounded a bit older though.
'Not really.' I admitted. If she was the person I was with.. Did that mean that she was also the one who brought me back home?
'I am Kamiko. I brought you home last night.' Well, that answers one of my questions. Fear stopped me from asking the other one. The one question that I was scared to get an answer for.
'What happened last night?' My voice was shaking, and I think she could hear it clearly how I felt.
'Nothing worse. Let's meet up if you have the time, okay? When are you free? I will catch you up about what happened last night.'
Looking in my steamed mirror, my make-up half done. Still looking like the hungover bitch I was. At least she sounded genuine. But did I want to meet up with a complete stranger right now? I did want to know what happened..
'Ehm. How about the Sun Crawl in an hour?' It was a small kiosk turned into lunch-meet. It belonged to Sorin's dad and honestly wasn't that far away.
'Sounds alright to me. See you then Ocean Wave.' Was the last thing I heard before I heard that familiar sound that the call had hung up.
So that woman did bring me home. At least it wasn't a weirdo. I continued with my make-up, just a light day make-up and a soft red gloss on my lips. Just so I don't keep looking like the living dead, or a zombie.
Grabbing my phone from on top of the sink, I walk towards my kitchen. I open my fridge and groan. Uh-oh, I forgot to buy groceries again. I really need to start thinking about my health. Well, that just means that I will have lunch with my mystery lady I guess. And maybe go buy groceries after she has told me what had happened. If I don't forget it again.
Making my way back towards my room. I grab my sneakers from under my bed and put them on. Walking back, I grab my wallet and keys from my counter before I run out of my door and lock it. The walk to the kiosk took me a good twenty minutes. Longer than I expected it to be. But the sun was shining way too bright and my head did not like that at all.
When I got inside, it was still quite empty. Only a few students were chatting around and studying. A lovely older couple. But not the red head I was searching for. I seat myself next to the window, close to the door. I just wanted to be close to the door. Maybe in case of an emergency runaway I had to plan.
Buying myself a Frappe for the 'waiting time'. At least that is what I told myself. But my inner child was just screaming for the vanilla ice cream. And I needed the espresso more than ever this time.
