Lows and the Highs
Through the lows and the highs,
You promised to stay by my side.
I see you making an effort everyday,
But is that really love or sympathy?
When the rain pours from the sky,
You become my shelter in those times.
You gave me comfort in my gloomy days,
And I felt so much better each time you do.
Days passed by so fast
And I noticed the changes in your act.
You’re becoming distant, my love.
I think I know the reason why.
You got tired of understanding me.
I’m sorry for exhausting you.
It hurts to know you got tired of me
And now you are planning to leave me.
If one day you’ll finally leave me,
It will be hard to let you go.
But I will for letting you go is the only way
For you to spread your wings and be free.
If it feels like I’m one of the chains
That prevents you from reaching your goal,
You are now free from the grip of my past
Where in I drag you to help me get out.
You have helped me so much,
But it drained your energy.
I’m sorry that through the lows and the highs,
I clung unto you to be my light.
Through the lows and the highs,
You were always by my side.
But through the lows and the highs,
I failed to see you struggle too.
