After a couple of days, Will can't stop thinking about how Mike said, "I love you." To him. To HIM.

Will is laying in his bed with his head hanging off the edge of the bed.

He kept overthinking it. Maybe he was talking to his mom or sister. Maybe he meant it in a friend way?

But never says "I love you" to Lucas,Dustin,or..Max OR even El...

Will stopped worrying about and got this random confidence to call Mike again to see if he can figure this out.

He ran down the stairs and looked at his mom who was eating cereal on the couch.

"Mom..are you waiting for anyone to call you?" He says softly as he tilts his head from behind the little wall at the stairs.

Joyce turns her head as she wipes her mouth. She places her bowl on the coffee table and swallows.

"No, Hunny. You can use it, " She says as a warm smile creeps onto her face.

"Thanks, mom!" He says softly.

Will jumps a bit as he quickly grabs the phone and runs up to his room.

He closes his door and sits on his bed.

He takes a deep breath and dials the number. It rings for a while, then you can just hear soft breathing.

Will decided to speak first because he called in the first place. "Mike?" He says softly

"Will.." Mike say quietly, sounding sick or just very scared.

Will takes a deep breath then exhales.
"Why did you mean when...you- s-said
'I love you' a couple days ago?..." Will says slowly, trying not to scare him away or make him hang up.

You can Hear Mike's soft breath hitch and he stays silent.

"I'm not mad. Just please..tell me." Will says gently.

Mike sighs. "I love you. That's what I mean. I love- I love you so much." He mumbles into the phone

Will blushes and smiles like an idiot.

"Seriously?..." Will whispers.

"Yeah.." He says quietly as his voice squeaks a bit.

Will stays silent for a moment while he fidget with the barcode sticker of the phone while trying to think of what to say.

"I love you too.. Mike." Will finally says quietly.

Will swear he heard Mike gasp or even fall.

Mike giggles softly. "Will.." He just says happily.

"Mike.." Will just says as well as he chuckles warmly.

Will then realizes Mike is practically cheating.

"Wait..what about El?.." Will says softly.

Mike face drops a bit. "Oh..we broke up. She said I'm not saying I love you to her as much and...uh...yeah. Through letter too.." He says quietly.

Will's eyes widen. "Oh.." He mumbles.

"Now I've got you.." Mike mumbles as he snickers.

"Oh God, Wheeler.." Will says quietly as he giggles.
