Gael’s/Gabriel’s POV

“GOOOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING BESTIEE!!” Grena texted me with a sarcastic text. Grena is my childhood best friend until now. We used to be classmates since nursery to elementary, but we split up at high school due to my father’s work. I recently transferred back to her school as a grade 10 student currently graduating from grade 11. Unlike others, she is one of the smartest among the top students at our school. We both want to be detectives!

See? We have something in common which is to be a detective...

“Hi” I replied.
“You’ve been so cold recently, what happened?” She asked.

Yes, I’m excited about my high school years and no, because there will be lots of homework to do. Ugh…

To be honest, my excitement turned into fear. I wasn’t ready about my high school years that time…

“Let’s head to school. I’ll meet you up.” I sent the message to Grena, and she wasn’t replying!

As a grade 10 student, me, myself and I need more friends to help with my studies, especially when you are in high school.

It was raining at that time when I was going to school. While I was walking, a car splashed me with water, and I was soaking wet! I was so angry at the van driver!

“Shame on you!” I shouted at the van. The van just sped by and ignored me, so it pissed me much more!!

My shirt is wet! This is unbelievable! And it’s the first day of school!!

I didn’t pack any extra clothes so I’m going to have to walk to school with wet, stained, and dirty clothes!

As I was still walking, Grena offered me a ride in her mother’s car.

“Why are you drenched?” she asked then scoffed.

“A van splashed water on me.” I spoke with an irritated tone, and I’m still angry about it!

“Poor you! You probably didn’t pack any clothes...”

“Bingo!” I said loudly with a sarcastic tone.

My clothes were stained with mud and dirty water. My uniform was already dirty, and I wasn't even in school yet! I’m already haggard!

“Well, I have clothes you can use!” Grena joked.

“No way! I’m not wearing a skirt!” I proclaimed.

“Well then, you’ll be drenched for the rest of the day, plus! It’s the first day of school you know.” Grena responded.

“I’d rather be wet than wear that!” I said to her. I don’t want to wear a girl’s uniform!

“Okay then. Oh, wait I happened to have packed a pair of jeans and a hoodie”

“Thanks, Grena! I'll just change once we get there”

As we went inside the school, I quickly changed my clothes and left the bathroom while Grena was waiting outside. We didn’t notice that we were super late! We’re going to get scolded by the headmistress. But luckily, she was speaking Infront of the students.

Until she said, “I am going to depart now. Have a good school year!”

“Did you hear what she said?” I asked Grena.

“What's with your hearing? She clearly said she's going to depart. Duh!” Grena rolled her eyes.

Everyone looked at us giving us an embarrassment until this guy said, “Respect the headmistress.” He was on our line. I don’t know if he’s our classmate or upper grade but scolded us like a president.

“Okay boss!” Grena said to him like she was ready to fight.

I immediately told her to stop, or she can get in trouble even if it’s the first day of school.

“Fine! I’m still not done with you, BOSS!”  she said to him.

I sighed and confronted Grena while the ceremony was occurring.

“You shouldn’t do that! It’s your fault anyways!” I spoke.

“He started it!”

“So?” I asked her.

“Fine! I’m the one who's wrong.”  She spoke.

“There you go.”

Right after I confronted Grena, that guy came again. And said, “Sorry for what I’ve said earlier that made you guys embarrassed! I didn’t mean to hurt you two. “

I said, “It’s okay, you’re the one who’s right anyways.”

“I’m Ahkirro by the way.” Ahkirro spoke.

“I’m Gael and she’s Grena.”

Yet, we developed as friends and became closer at that time. We friended ourselves on every social media until the teachers had to tell us that students needed to go home because something happened at our school.

And because of that, we decided to hang out at the mall in Sta. Cruz.

As we headed to the jeepney, we were joking with each other.

“Imagine cutting classes? Couldn’t be me!” I said it as a joke until a parent with a child took it seriously.

“Honey, it’s bad to cut classes, okay?” She said to her child with temperance on us.

“Yes mommy” The kid responded.

“We we’re just joking Karen!” I said rudely.

The people inside the jeepney reprimanded me for talking back.

“You’re rude! Where are your parents, boy?!” She said by shouting at us.

We held our laughter and stayed silent. We won’t see that mother again anyways, right?

As I hand the money to the jeepney driver, Grena told us that, “We should eat at KFC!”

We both agreed anyways. Since we are all hungry and craving spicy chicken!!

We got out of the jeepney and went to the mall. Thank goodness we’re going to eat. I am so so hungry!

We ordered spicy chicken with rice since I said that we’ve been craving for those for so long.

“Food is here!” Grena said happily.

We love spicy chicken! Who doesn’t love them right?

And yea we continued to explore the mall. We bought our favorite stuff! I love sweaters to be honest!

While we were drinking Sprite, our teacher told everyone in the group chat that class has resumed since the problem is fixed.

I was in complete shock and spat the sprite that I was drinking all over Ahkirro’s clothes.
