"stuck on something?"
———————————————————
I look back to find Aiden Li. The worst possible person to be here at this time. I roll my eyes and turn to my book. I would rather die than let him see me struggle.its about 5 in the evening right now. I have to finish this and i'm not making any progress at home so i decided to have some peace in the library, the only quiet spot i know.
"You know you've been staring at the same page for 10 minutes now, right?."
"why do you care?" I reply back. He probably just wanted to ridicule me.
"Wow. You seem a little bothered today." he laughs
"Yeah, because of you."
"oh my god. i'm so hurt" he replied sarcastically
"Can you just go the fuck away?" I say, fighting the urge to slap him.
I've always hated him, and he's always hated me. We always compete in our tests, final exams, projects and whatnot. It's just become an ongoing cycle of hatred and competition. It basically started when he "accidentally" bumped into me and made my science project fly onto the ground during the annual science festival in 6th grade. That dumbass didn't even apologize, he just walked away like he didn't single handedly ruin my grades.
"woah there, calm down. I don't think i'm that bad." he smirks as he leans in close.
"well you are." i snark back.
"lemme see" he says as he flips a page of my book, " ah. you're confused over here?"
"i'm not confused. i just need some more time to process whatever the fuck this is." i reply.
"so you're confused?"
"can you just go?" i say.
he sits down next to me and opens his bag, reaching for what seems his textbook.
"i didn't let you sit here" the fact that he's here doesn't help me concentrate any better.
"i don't need your permission, sweetheart"
i roll my eyes. i'm used to it at this point. he never listens to anyone, probably not even his parents.
i put my concentration on my book, while he does the same.
