I tried to turn, but my back hurts. I opened my eyes to see all of the aunties nearby. They always made me feel special and treated me like a princess. I grinned and tried to stand, but failed miserably.
"Easy, Ada," one of them said as he helped me. I looked at the clock, and it was after 7, and I had barely slept for four hours. I sighed and stood up from the bed, with their help.
"Take leave today, you will hurt yourself," Grandma cautioned me, but I couldn't avoid my duty because it's the only place where I can find peace and let go of my sadness. I shook my head and entered the bathroom for a hot shower. These tortures are not new to me; my mother died 17 years ago, and these tortures have been going on for 17 years.
I wanted to warn everyone about him and scream, but I couldn't since he'd steal those innocent souls as well. When I was 17, I told my teacher about it, but he somehow found out. the day, he nearly broke my hand, and I could no longer locate the teacher.
I stood under the shower, and as soon as the warm water touched my skin, it began to burn. My eyes poured with tears, and I couldn't stop them. It burns like awful at first, but it finally gives me relief. I dried myself and exited in my bathrobe.
I stood in front of the mirror and stared at my back, which was covered with marks. I whimpered and covered myself again, this time in a simple kurti that covered my entire back and hands. I wore minimal makeup so that no one could see my puffy eyes or face. I gathered my belongings and grinned as I exited my room.
When I got downstairs, I noticed him enjoying breakfast with a new girl on his lap. I walked passed him while closing my eyes in wrath.
He said, "You should wish your elders," and I came to a standstill. He told you, "Now you are getting married to Vid, so behave otherwise, you know." I gave him a quick glance.
"I said yes from your side," he added, feeding the girl in his lap. I gazed at him in surprise, wondering how he could agree to this marriage. I felt tears well up in my eyes but attempted to ignore them. I stepped out of the home and got into the car.
