A Steamy Moment...

The hot water from the shower sang across my skin and my face. It was as if I was washing away all of my sins and mistakes. After being in this shower for about a half an hour mostly thinking, I put the Dove bar away and decided it was time to get out before I turned into a raisin. When I opened the glass door, the normal, room temperature air hit me like an ungodly, icy wind. I wrapped a white towel around myself and stepped out, shivering from head to toe. I took the makeshift bun I made out of its rat's nest and let my short black and blonde hair catch some air. I walked over to our bathroom sinks and wiped away the steam on the foggy mirror. I took a long look at the woman staring back at me. These last three years have been quite a ride for her. She finally had the strength to leave her monster of a boyfriend for good, found love in a hopeless place with a man that means her well and genuinely cares for her, managed a career that she thoroughly enjoys, got engaged (shocker), got married (BIGGER SHOCKER), and have been committed to her husband for the last year and falls in love with him more and more within every hour of everyday.

My phone let me know I got a text which put a pause on my reflection. I unlocked the screen and saw that my beloved texted me saying,

"I don't know if I ever told you this, but I love the way your hair looks when you get out the shower. *insert wink emoji* *insert lovestruck emoji*"

I giggled at my screen and looked up at the mirror to find Michael standing in the doorway of the bathroom. I regarded him intently within the reflection: his t shirt and phone clutched in his right hand, with only his sweatpants on and his bare feet. I ran my fingers through my semi damp hair and winked at him in an over exaggerated, trying too hard to be seductive way. He shook his head and chuckled at my attempt to seduce him and padded up behind me. He put his t shirt and phone down on the ledge and wrapped those warm, welcoming arms of his around my torso, flexing as they snaked around me. He grazed his nose against the skin behind my ear, making me shake in my bones.

I closed my eyes, reveling in his touch. I felt his lips travel from behind my ear, down my neck and across my shoulder. I opened my eyes watching him as his lips followed the curve of my shoulder upward toward my neck again. I smiled to myself hearing the pleasurable sucks and smack of his lips against my skin. When he moved his face from the hollow of my neck, he laid a soft kiss on my cheek and rested his chin on my shoulder. He looked at me and I looked at him in the mirror.

Two pairs of eyes.

Dark brown to light brown.

No words, no sound, nothing.

Just the love of one another pouring from our eye sockets.

"You know," I said, "this would be a really cute picture."

I ease my head on top of his.

"You think?" he asked.

I nodded, then picked up my phone.

I switched to camera mode and he turned his head into my neck and I smiled while snapping the small, yet sweet gesture. He looked over my shoulder to examine the picture, as did I. It was adorable. It was sensual due to the fact that we both had so little on, but it was innocent seeing his boyish nature making him appear camera shy and me, like a mother quietly chuckling at her son's shy behavior. It made him appear human, not the demigod people made him out to be.

"I love it.", he said.

"I do too.", I said while busying myself with saving the picture as the background on my phone.

Now I can always see my baby and I together.

"You know what else I love?" His suggestive tone made my head spin and look up at him.

He leaned forward and rubbed the tip of his nose along the bridge of mine. I knew he was doing this purpose.

"What?" I asked, my train of thought nearly derailing.

Without taking his eyes off of me, he bent down to tuck his arm underneath the backs of my knees, lifting me up in his arms, bridal style. One hand slid across his upper back while my other hand found comfort on his neck.

" I think I can show you a lot better than I could tell you."

And like that, all the air left my body.
