"I told you, Sophia," Ava said, her voice filled with a mix of sympathy and frustration.
We were sitting in our usual spot in the park, the place where we shared secrets, laughter, and now, my heartbreak.
"I know, I know I'm wrong," I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper.
I could feel the sting of tears at the back of my eyes, but I forced them back. I had to be strong.
"I should've listened to you," I added, the weight of my regret heavy in my voice. Ava had warned me about him, about the heartache that he would bring. But I was too blinded by love to see the truth.
"Don't tell me you're going to cry over him?" Ava asked, her voice filled with concern. She knew me better than anyone else, knew how much I loved him, and how much I was hurting now.
"No, I'm strong," I said, forcing a smile on my face. I had to be strong, for myself. I couldn't let him break me, couldn't let him have that power over me.
But as I sat there, staring at the empty space beside me, I couldn't help but feel the pain. The pain of a broken heart, of a love lost. I missed him, missed his laughter, his smile, his presence.
"But it hurts, Ava," I admitted, my voice breaking. "It hurts so much."
"I know, Sophia," Ava said, her voice soft and comforting. "But you're strong. You can get through this."
I nodded, taking a deep breath. I had to believe her, had to believe in myself. I was strong, and I would get through this.
