Punn felt the warm rays of the rising sun grazing his neck as he opened his eyes. He stood to his feet and lit the candles. He bowed one more time and stepped away as the the scent of chamomile filled the air.

He wore an orange t-shirt and a clean white shorts. On his feet, he was wearing a black sandals. His hair was neatly trimmed at the back and sleeks of scattered bangs laid across his forehead.

The morning was warmer than last night. Ever since his parents passed away, Punn developed insomnia. He only manager to get some quick naps during the day. He would spend the night gazing at ceiling thinking about how life would have been if his parents were still alive.

The scents was calming and he spent a moment inhaling it.

"Son..." A deep, friendly voice called from behind him.

Punn turned to see a young monk standing beside him. He was dressed in orange and red cloak, his eye bright and welcoming.
"You come here often am I right?"

Punn nodded. "Yes I do."

"I know your face. You don't miss your rituals. Not all young men are faithful like this."

"Thank you. I think I find peace here," Punn smiled warmly.

"I have a gift for you but you must sow some seed first."

Punn looked confused. He had brought some fruits for prayers an ad didn't want to give it to any body except the senior monk.

"Do you have something to give me?"

Punn hesitated. This situation was rare. He knew monks to be knidhearted but never thought to accept any gift from them. "Don't worry. I'm fine."

"You must have the gift. It's important. Khun Punn."

Punn stood puzzled. "How did you know my name?"

"Bring the fruits first then I will tell you."

Punn grabbed the basket of oranges, and apples and handed it to the monk. The monk smiled. "Don't be alarmed." He brought out a bracelet and showed it to Punn.

"Is this the gift?"

"Yes. The 99 star wishing bracelet." The monk said as he placed the rare, hand crafted, locally made bracelet on Punn's palm.

Punn stared at the piece of jewelry for a second. "What is it for?" He asked.

"You will know soon. Just open your heart."

"Open my heart?" Punn looked at the wrist band. It had rings of black and red crystal beads wooven together and a pendant of a half crescent moon hung in the middle. "But -?"

Punn turned to speak to the monk, but he was no where near him. It seem as he disappeared. Feeling a bit frightened, Punn shoved the bracelet in his shorts pocket and left the temple.
