"Alright, try the first verse again, August. Really put your heart into it!" The stage manager at his sound check obviously didn't realize that August was out of it. However, August could tell that he was not himself. He was distracted, and he wasn't exactly sure why. Sure, the fact that Trey decided to show up and sit front and center to watch his practice had something to do with it, but it was more along the lines of the thoughts that Trey's presence provoked which distracted August, not Trey himself.

Of course, that was until the backtrack of "No Love" started playing. For whatever reason, Trey started slouching and grabbing at the length between his legs, while at the same time licking his lips and looking at August with a deep penetrating stare. August locked eyes with him unintentionally and stopped singing entirely, instinctively biting his bottom lip in response.

"STOP! STOP EVERYTHING!" The stage manager yelled from the center of the audience section, upset by August's constant mess ups.

"Fuck..." August mumbled to himself, snapping out of Trey's trance and back into reality.

"August, I don't like wasted time, do you?! 'Cause it feels like you're wasting everyone's time here. Do you want your performance tonight to be spot on? Because I can leave if not and go take care of my daughter that I left at daycare to do this for you. I'll just go, along with the dancers, the lighting crew, the sound crew, how does that sound?! It's a little too early in your career to be pulling the diva acts."

The stage manager was obviously a little more than just ticked off, but understandably so. August was lost for words and didn't know how to respond or what to say to calm the situation down at all. All that really stuck out in his head at this exact moment was the comment about it being "too early." He was getting tired of everyone telling him it was too early to do this or too early to do that, it's his career for crying out loud. Nevertheless, he knew the stage manager was right. He needed to get it together. "Listen, Toya, I... I..."

"Honestly, Toya, I think it's just a misunderstanding." August looked up in surprise at Trey interjecting the way he did. "Up until now he's had people with him, so it's only natural that he would be nervous at his first soundcheck by himself. You know Nicki is always with him at these things, but she can't today because she's doing a concert for the Pink Print Tour and won't be back until tonight to perform with him. I don't think you want her upset with you, do you? You know how she gets. How about everyone take a break and then I'll do her verse to help him feel a little more comfortable?"

Toya looked back and forth between August and Trey for a few seconds, knowing that Trey was right about Nicki, she unwillingly agreed. "You can't baby him, Trey. He won't get any better if you do."

"I'm not babying him at all, I'm just giving him a little help. Something that wasn't shown to me when I first got started. I'll make sure he nails sounds check, Toya. I promise."

"Whatever." Toya stormed off, "EVERYONE TAKE A BREAK FOR THIRTY MINUTES! BE BACK ON TIME
OR THERE WILL BE A CUT IN YOUR PAY."

August chuckled a little and gave Trey a meaningful look, saying thank you with his eyes rather than his words. He turned around and started walking backstage towards his dressing room, signaling Trey to follow behind him.

He obeyed, following August and making sure to shut the door behind him. "So... Nicki tells me—"

"Listen, Trey... it's cool that you like men too or whatever, and it's really cool that you stuck up for me, but I don't know about this..." Trey raised one eyebrow, looking very confused by Alsina's sudden outburst, but also intrigued by what he had to say. "This could get really messy, and I don't wanna mess up our friendship. That's the last thing I want."

Sympathetically, Trey tried to interrupt, "Listen, Augu—" But August wouldn't let him.

"Let me finish, Trey!" August's speech to Trey started becoming repetitive. He paced around the room several times before he decided to sit down. He started speaking faster and faster, showing that he was obviously nervous about this whole situation. "What if we get caught, huh? What if we get outed? Our careers, have you thought about that? I don't think 'MR. STEAL YOUR GIRL' would sell as many tickets if people found out he was getting fucked by a guy." At that, Trey chuckled, but didn't interrupt Alsina. To be honest, Trey tuned him out a long time ago. His focus was unapologetically on August's body, glistening with sweat. "Are you even listening to me, Trey? This is serious."

"Yes, August. I'm listening." He responded, slightly annoyed. "And no offense... but my career is bigger than yours right now, so I know how serious this is."

"Then what are we going to do about this?"

Trey looked up at August, smirking and pulling his hands out of his pocket. He walked over to him and sat on his lap. "You're going to shut up and make-out with me before you have to go to sound-check, that's what. The details can be worked out later."

"W-What...?"

Trey cuffed both sides of Alsina's neck with his hands and pressed his lips against his, kissing him passionately. August's resistance completely faltered and he followed Trey's routine as if he had fallen to it many times before. August's hands fell to the arch of Trey's back. He started playing with the band of his underwear as he started falling deeper and deeper into the spell that was Tremaine Neverson.

Trey repositioned himself and started kissing on August's neck, being careful to not leave a mark on his new light-skin addiction. He moaned in response to the affection Trey was giving him. Trey started grinding his hips into him, signaling that he wanted to go further. The sexual tension that was rising caused to length in August's pants to harden quickly, Trey felt it press against his bum, making him chuckle between kisses. "Ha. Hard already? Guess I'm doing something right."

Trey started to take his shirt off, and feeling embarrassed, August stopped him. "I'm sorry, we can't... not right now."

Frustrated, Trey barked back. "What? Why?"

"...Your comment about me getting hard quickly... the reason is because I haven't been intimate with a guy in a long time... years. It just doesn't feel right."

Trying to be understanding, Trey felt sympathetic and got off of Alsina's lap. "Continue..."

"The last guy... the last person I had sex with was my first. My first everything. I was in love with him, and I think I still am... so meaningless sex is out the question. Maybe one day, but not today. I guess I'm a romantic, huh?"

"There's nothing wrong with being romantic. Shit, half the time I wish I was more romantic... Do I know this guy?"

"We were messing around before I got signed."

"Well, he's a lucky guy to have someone like you still hung up on him. Maybe you two will work through whatever happened and find your way back to each other."

August blushed. Trey being so understanding made him even more attractive to Alsina... it was almost unbelievable. "Yeah, maybe."

"In the meantime, I hope that we can get to know each other better and that I can prove to you that sex with me wouldn't be meaningless. I'm actually starting to kinda like you, Alsina."

"HA. I bet you say that to all the guys Nicki sends your way, Mr. Steal Your Girl." They both laughed at each other and shared a meaningful stare once again.

"Well, let me go. I don't want things to get awkward. Kill your performance tonight, August."

"What about sound-check? You were supposed to help me...!"

"I think I've already helped you a lot. You don't need me or Nicki to bring this place down." Trey gave August a hug and a soft kiss goodbye and left, leaving with a big smile on his face and an even bigger hard-on between his legs.
