Her eyes opened with a heavy head. Of course the first thing she would see was Ella's adorable sleeping face melted into a pillow opposite her. She couldn't escape her.She had spent quite a bit of time last night just sat in the bathroom, door locked, scrolling aimlessly through social media just to try and escape the constant thoughts and feelings towards Tooney.
She couldn't understand how she had coped all these years, as a teenager too. It annoyed her that now she's a grown adult she couldn't keep a lid on it.
The striker envied the time she could just switch those feelings off but when she felt Ella's arm slip around her waist last night, she found it extremely difficult to not spill every last feeling out to her best friend. She knew the decision she made the other morning when she was almost certain Ella looked at her in that way, before they were abruptly interrupted by Hempo and Chloe crashing tea carts in the hallway. She knew it would come back to bite her.
In her mind that morning, she opened up the possibility that Ella would reciprocate those feelings but opening that side of her self up, she's encountered another problem. Jealously.
She's not a jealous person. She never has been. Not in friendships, relationships, career wise, nothing. She just wasn't that way inclined. The striker would always see the silver lining to others successes or actions. Never dwelling on things for too long.
But last night, when she heard that Ella had texted Mary and not her, she jumped to a conclusion. She assumed that the midfielder had texted the goalkeeper while at the hospital when matter of fact, it was while Alessia was sat with her.
What bothered her most about the leap she had made was that she knew why she made it. It was because the blonde wants to be the first person to Ella's mind if something happens. Whether it be good or bad, because in the end. That's what Ella is to her. But she's insecure about that, in her mind, at the moment, Mary is one of the most important people in Ella's life, she's the midfielders go too. But Alessia used to be that shoulder to cry on for the midfielder, or the person to celebrate with.
The striker sighed. Quietly turning over and climbing out of bed. She threw on some shorts and a hoodie, slipping her feet into some sliders before running through her morning routine.
She heard Ella stir as the door to their room clicked closed behind her. Alessia quickly shuffled down the hall and into to the lift.
The lift doors pinged open as she reached the lobby.
"Well good morning Lessi!" A friendly chirpy voice pulled her tired eyes away from her phone.
"Good morning Es!" Alessia smiled seeing the always happy defender with four takeaway cups in her hand.
"Off for a morning stroll I see!" The defender walked into the lift passing the nodding striker.
"Don't suppose one of those are for me?" Alessia joked pointing at the cup holder in Esmes hand.
"Unfortunately not no! Hate to say but they are lovely, there's a little coffee stall down by the beach front, go and grab one and come and meet me Hempo and niamhy if you'd like!" The defender awkwardly stuck her arm out to stop the doors closing.
"Thanks Es! I'll go and grab one but I think I'm going to sit on the beach for an hour before we head off to training" Alessia flattened her lips, she appreciated the offer but she wanted to be alone.
"Okie dokie" Esme stepped back into the lift and Alessia turned to walk away but was halted when she heard the doors ping, looking over her shoulder she seen Esmes arm outstretched again, stopping them from closing.
