Some people believe that we write our own story; that each decision we make leads to wherever our paths take us. That life is driven by choices. Series of choices we make one after another.

On the other hand, some believe that our paths were already written for us even before we were born. The life we have and the people we meet are predestined for us. All part of the plan. We call it “destiny”.

Baekhyun falls in the first category. He doesn’t believe in “fate”. His 23 years of existence taught him that it was only a mundane word people loved using as a defense mechanism whenever their lives got derailed.

“Ah, perhaps this was my destiny.”
“Maybe I was fated to live like this.”

He pities the people who blame anyone and anything else but themselves when it’s their own actions that lead them toward the cliff. The thought of depending his life’s outcome to what was “fated” for him makes him want to puke.

No. He will never live that way.

The only person who can write his storyline is himself alone.
He—and no one else—controls the pen.

Meanwhile, Chanyeol is on the other side of the spectrum. Maybe he was born with the blessing of “luck”, but even during the times when everything was in line and all he held onto was his favorite quote, “Whatever will be, will be”, impressively, things happen to go his way.

He's been famous since middle school, having been part of the basketball team all because of his height, although he seldom plays the game anyway. His personality made the people around him adore him—and admittedly, he liked the attention.

He passed the College Entrance Exam by trusting the letter “C” in most questions and maybe selecting the other options for the numbers that didn’t feel right.

He even managed to secure a good-paying job because his college senior’s sister was his fan, and she helped him prepare for the job interview by giving him tips on how to impress her colleagues. Some may call it “nepotism”, but to Chanyeol, it’s called “destiny”.

What happens if the person who drives his life by making careful decisions meets someone who depends almost everything on destiny?

Where will their fate and decisions take them?

How will the interplay between their destiny and individual choices become significant in their storyline?

A/N: Getting back to writing after a long pause. Here's a short story as a gift. I know I have a few others that are pending, and I'm sorry to keep you waiting.

I have already finished the draft for Dawn, but I'm more leaned into writing this one first.

Hope you're having a great day~!

xoxo, Tinkerbell ☆
