Penelope's POV

It didn't take long for the van to pull up in front of the towering condominium building. Horangi Estates, the most luxurious and expensive condominium available in the country. It is well-known, with other countries already demanding expansion globally.

Or maybe I'm assuming he's a police officer, but what was the gun about? I distinctly heard his friend introducing himself as a police officer, and they even recognized him.

I sighed as I began walking inside the condo. The four of us rode the elevator, and they pressed the penthouse button. See? I'm not ignorant about how expensive this lifestyle is becoming, and it doesn't quite add up even if we say he held a high rank in the military, right?

The ride was silent as we reached the floor. The hallway was so spacious that it could fit a bus, meticulously designed and personalized. The theme was dark yet fascinating.

We stopped in front of the lavish oak door. The other guy spoke into the device clipped on the collar of his inner shirt, and after some time, we heard the door click. Itinulak ng isang lalaki ang pinto at huminga muna ako ng malalim bago pumasok. As soon as I stepped into the room, I heard the door close behind me. I tried to calm myself down as my eyes wandered around the unit.

It doesn't look like the room was used every day. The things are pretty organized, the floor was extremely shiny, and the sofa wasn't even wrinkly. My eyes landed on the breathtaking view of the entirety of the city from the glass wall. My feet started to take me closer to it when suddenly Sebastian appeared from the kitchen.

He was wearing a black bathrobe which looked like he just threw it on his body like other men would. It wasn't closed properly on the breast part, revealing his hard chest. His thick, long lashes are wet, and his hair still dripping with water. His other hand was rubbing a towel on his head while the other is holding a glass of water, which he immediately handed to me.

I crossed my arms over my chest and was about to look away when I gave him a second glance. I squinted my eyes to get a better view of the long cut above his left eyebrow. It looked fresh, and the skin was red and had some blood clots on it.

"What happened to that?"

I asked, referring to his forehead while he bent down to put the water on the coffee table.

"Ah, my pet scratched me last night."

He answered casually. Napangiwi ako sa naging sagot niya.

"Pet? Your pet must be a dinosaur to give you a scratch as big as that."

I implied sarcastically. Who would even believe him? The cut was longer than his eyebrows.

I couldn't believe it when I suddenly heard him chuckle. I didn't know that a chuckle could sound so hot.

"You could say that."

He said throwing away the towel over the backrest of the sofa.

"Sebastian, you should stop this before I report you for kidnapping."

I told him, which didn't bother him enough to even give me a glance. He leisurely walked past me and sat on the sofa.

"And you should stop threatening me before I actually kidnap you."
