Fifteen years.
I knew Jonah for fifteen years. Since elementary school, we were inseparable. There was never a day that we weren't together. I fell in love with him, he fell in love with me. I wanted to move to a big open land in the country side, he chose to enlist in the military. We got married and moved to Texas for him to start training then he was deployed a year later.
As a military spouse, your worst nightmare is waking up to a knock on your door and a person in uniform standing on the other side. I never thought I would be on the receiving end of those.
But I was.
I lost my best friend, the person I was supposed to spend my entire life with. My life was never going to be the same anymore.
