AS OF AUGUST 18, 2014, THIS STORY WILL BE UNDER HEAVY CONSTRUCTION. IF YOU'RE READING THIS (AND I HOPE YOU ARE), READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.

I began this story when I was around thirteen, so the grammar kind of sucks; there's a lot of errors, plot holes, and confusing sentences. Please feel free to ask any questions or comment anything I may have missed when editing, or if you have any suggestions on how I could improve the story. With that being said, please kind in your criticism, whether the chapter has been edited or not, as I cannot promise that I will be kind if you are not. AGAIN: READ AT YOUR OWN RISK.

MAKE SURE TO READ THE AUTHOR'S NOTE (A/N) AT THE END. IT WILL TELL YOU WHETHER THE CHAPTER HAS BEEN EDITED AT ALL OR NOT.

        Enjoy! :D

(Alicia's P.O.V)

"Girls and boys keep lining up to see if they can measure up, They look good and they feel wild but it will never be enough, You say you're really hurting, at least you're feeling something," I sing quietly, spinning in the combination to my locker before school started.

12 to the right, 32 to the left, 18 to the right, and...opened!

I do a little mental happy dance; I got it open on the first try. Woo!

As I begin emptying my homework, notebooks, and textbooks from my messenger bag, I realize I've left something at home: my pocket knife.

Ugh. I'm always forgetting that thing.

I put my iPod away, sighing, deciding not to freak out over it. I wouldn't need it today. I was going to be walking home with my friends right after practice anyway. It would still be light out.

Nothing to worry about, I assure myself.

I start gathering the needed things for my homeroom and first period class right as I see one of my few girl friends, Cassie, walk up.

"Hey, chicka!" she greets, waving at me.

"Hey, girl!" I respond, like I'm greeting a dog.

"Do me a favor?" she asks hopefully.

"Sure, what is it?"

"I was really hoping you could stay after school to help plan the Spring Dance that will be held in May. Will ya? Please??"

"Uh, isn't May like, five months away?"

"Yeah, but there's still a lot to plan. We need to decide on a DJ, food, location, theme, etc. Some places are booked six months in advance. So please? Will you help?" she presses.

"Sure, no problem. How late will I have to stay?"

"Um, no later than seven or eight. But I'm sure they would let you leave a little early if your mom had a problem, and they totally understand about being late because of sports."

"Oh, okay. Yeah, I'll help. No problem, girl," I tell her with a smile.

"Yay!" she squeals, hugging me. "Thank you so much! I owe ya big time!"

I chuckle and finish getting my things before pulling out my phone to text my big brother:

Me: Think you can give me a ride home? Staying late to help with dance.

Caden: Sure, kid. What time?

Me: 6:30 or 7-ish?

Caden: Perfect. My shift ends @6.
