"'Mirror Mirror Part 1 is sung from the perspective of Weiss Schnee,'" the note explained, "'and quite possibly exists in your world as well, if the framing device of Weiss's trailer can be trusted. If so, I'm...sorry about this, Weiss. The decision to continue is on you.'"
Weiss just...looked at the screen for a few moments. She did know that song, she wrote it! And it was...deeply personal. She was only able to get away with it, she suspected, because her father never bothered to pay attention to the lyrics. After being raised by that man for 17 years, it was...hard for her to open up, and she knew that.
But maybe...maybe she should. Not just so they could get to the later stuff, but...well, she spent most of her life living by that man's rules. She knew these people (well, not very well in the case of the Professors she had to admit). They...wouldn't judge her. As if to prove that, Ruby moved her holo-chair-and how did that work-closer to hers.
Even knowing that it would probably only get worse from here, with Ruby holding her hand, Weiss declared. "Play it." Nodding, Ruby pressed play.
It started with a calm melody, based on something Weiss had played at her recitals when she was younger. Well, here anyways. But...no, now's not the time to get existential. No one interrupted it, not even Nora. But then the lyrics started up.
[Mirror...]
Weiss gripped on to Ruby's hand harder. She only sang this thing once so revisiting it was...difficult.
[Tell me something...]
"You have a very pretty voice." Pyrrha spoke up, hoping to help her friend through this.
Faintly blushing, Weiss responded, "Well, I'm sure it would sound just as good with you".
[Tell me who's the loneliest of all...]
"Weiss...if you ever want to talk about this," Ruby spoke up, "...we're here. We're always here". Blake and Yang nodded at that. "I know I don't have the full picture, but..."
"...I'll think about it." Weiss muttered.
[*Transition to Fight Music*]
"Well, that took a turn pretty quick." Nora remarked.
[Mirror, tell me something...]
"So did you actually talk to a mirror, or-" Jaune began before Pyrrha elbowed him.
"Now is not the time, Jaune." She said firmly.
"Yeah...yeah. Idiot..." Jaune mumbled to himself.
"I did, actually." Weiss spoke up. "It was...easier".
[Tell me who's the loneliest of all]
"Is that...Weiss, was it really that..." Ruby trailed off.
Weiss just nodded. The others all looked in concern.
[Mirror, what's inside me?]
"Our friend. You're our friend, Weiss". Ruby stated firmly. Weiss...surprised herself by being able to nod.
[Tell me, can a heart be turned to stone?]
"Yeah no, no it can't." Yang said. "I know I...joke, but..." Weiss just...nodded again.
