A/N: Hello! And welcome to the new and improved Corrupted Angel. You will notice that a lot of it is the same but there are character, storyline, and location changes and that's okay! I wanted the story to be more realistic from an actual experience and here we are now. Please enjoy and thank you so much for your support and patience.
It was a warm evening on August 2nd, 2023 in Concord, California. The air was still dry from the summer heat earlier that day, the effects of it still hitting people even hours later, but there was a nice little breeze that was cooling people off. And since Concord was packed with people, specifically the Concord Pavilion, it was nice to have a good breeze to cool everyone off.
At the Concord Pavilion, loud music and cheering could be heard from as far as 2 miles away from the actual concert venue. No matter if you wanted to hear it or not, you were subjected to the music that came from the bands playing that day.
Just outside the venue's entrance, a pale, petite woman with long brunette hair and light blue eyes was sitting on the ground with her head resting on her crossed arms that were being held up by her knees. She was repeatedly taking in deep breaths, occasionally moving to pick up a water bottle and take small sips from it. She sat there for the entirety of the performances inside the venue, just listening to the music as she sat outside, and continued to sit there even as herds of people were funneling out of the venue to get in their cars and leave.
Eventually after everyone had left to their cars, she heard a pair of footsteps coming towards her direction. She didn't really pay much attention to whoever it was until they stopped right beside her. She looked up and saw a man with pale skin, long, jet black, fluffy hair with a small tuft of white hair right above the left side of his forehead. He also had rich, chocolate brown eyes, a gentle and kind smile and a clean shaven face.
"Sorry, didn't mean to disturb you." He spoke softly with that small smile still on his face, his voice was in the perfect vocal range that made it pleasing to hear to anyone if they heard him speak. "Mind if I sit with you?" He questioned, gesturing down at the ground beside her. She pulled her bottom lip between her teeth as she looked between him and the spot beside her before ultimately slowly nodding her head 'yes'. He smiled brightly and quickly moved to sit beside her on the ground with his arms resting on his knees much like her. "My name's Phantom by the way."
"Phantom?" She questioned softly, one of her eyebrows had quirked upward as she looked at him in confusion. He quickly nodded his head in response as he took in the sound of her voice, like a single feather drifting in the wind or a flower petal with the morning dew slowly rolling off of it. She let out a soft breath and gave him a small smile. "I'm Evangeline."
"Evangeline? Don't hear of many people with that name anymore now, do ya." The man, Phantom, commented. "I bet you go by Eva or Angie, but your family prefers to call you Angel or by your full name, huh?" He questioned her with a small smirk on his lips while she furrowed her eyebrows slightly and looked at him confused, letting out a small breathy laugh at his question.
"How could you possibly know that?" She questioned, causing him to chuckle softly and shrug.
"It's an easy guess, honestly." He replied softly, which made her let out a small noise of understanding as she nodded her head.
"Phantom is a unique name..." She said softly, looking down at her hands before looking back up at him. "I've actually never met a 'Phantom' before, you're the first."
