Bakugou Katsuki, many things could be said about him:

Brute.

Maniac.

A monster to the core.

But friend.. wasn't one he was expecting, that was until Eijirou came along at least.

He saw something in the blonde, dragons were incredibly hard to earn the trust of in these times.

Who could blame them, Katsuki couldn't.

-

Eijirou was a ray of sunshine people said, probably due to how calmer than the blonde he was.

Until either one of them is in danger that is, then prepare to kiss fire.

Maybe that's what made them so compatible, they cared for each other. Respected each other...

-

The warm crackle of a fire could be heard in the tranquil scene, the glorious red dragon curled next to the riverbed as the blonde sat there pondering. The stars in the sky were like millions of fireflies in an endless dance of peace, happiness. It reflected onto Katsuki as ruby eyes gazed upon the dragon beside him, cursed from birth to never be able to speak meaning he couldn't even give the dragon his name. He hated it, he was meant to be the strongest bounty hunter, explosion magic coursing through his veins yet he couldn't even say a word. Not even a simple hello could fall pass his lips.

Katsuki stared at the magnificent dragon a while longer, leaning into the warmth he found as a comfort.. he loved liked the dragon a lot, he found he could be himself around him with no judgement. He adored the feeling of being able to be free, especially since he was now free of his obligations to his tribe as he had been in the not so distant past. Well the past is in the past! He took the softest of breaths, taking in the last scent of burning timber as he too drifted into a peaceful slumber.

-

When the sun hit upon delicate scales is when the crimson eyes of Eijirou's slowly fluttered open, glancing at the one his heart yearned for protected from the light right under his wing. Safe and sound, without making too much movement or noise he returned to his human state as he kept a wing draped over Katsuki while he retrieved his clothes to change into.

"Hey, it's time to wake up." He gently shook Katsuki's shoulders, smiling at the groans of the male. "I know, I know but we got to do that big job right?" He asked with a hum.

Katsuki slowly nodded, yawning with a stretch as he huffed under his breath. If he had it his way, he and Eijirou wouldn't have to do this but he vowed to find whoever put this curse on him and he'd be damned if he stopped now! With the retrieval of his trusty sword and the gathering of food from berries to rabbits skillfully caught by Eijirou, off too the Todoroki kingdom they went. A land of fire and ice, unusual but not uncommon.

They had a job there and well, King Enji was willing to pay them more if his kingdom was threatened with destruction.. right?

-

The fruits of their labour had payed off! A few monsters killed and vanquished here and there, of course with some bribery of promising not to destroy the kingdom and they were headed off again. Eijirou smiled at the triumphant looking blonde male. "I'd say that went well for us huh Katsuki?!" The nod he got in reply was all he needed to feel proud of himself. Katsuki gave a small shake of his head at just how easily Eijirou was amused, patting the dragon's head as he threw a rabbit carcass so he could retrieve it while he set up camp.

Eijirou smiled and sat with the blonde while he crossed off a list in a journal he had, old leather binding with paper that had been slightly damaged to unceremoniously being shoved in a satchel every time it was put away. "Where to next?" He peeked at the book. "Oh isn't this leading back to your tribe?" With a nod of Katsuki's head the conversation was over. The other male hated his tribe and village he came from yet he still had to pass through as it was the easiest path to diverge through all the kingdoms.. this journey was going to be a huge pain in his ass-

However, with Eijirou by his side the positives outweighed the negatives. So therefore, he could keep his head up. For now.
