It was a stormy night in Ebott City. Cars filled the roads as everyone was trying to get to their destination. In a hospital nearby, a woman was in labor. Her husband held onto her hand as support. Later that night, two twin girls were born. As the babies' cries filled the room, two pairs of hurried footsteps rushed into the room.
Two slightly older children stared at the newborn, which their mother was holding gently in her arms. The rain outside seemed to fade out as something seemed to connect between the children. These babies were their new sisters, new members of their family.
They all smiled in sync, their father letting out a quiet chuckle. The father left the room with the children, allowing the mother to rest peacefully as the sun began to rise over the mountains.

As the familiar images faded from her vision, a loud, annoying ringing echoed in the quiet cabin, quite rudely waking up the person in the room. A hand came crashing down on the alarm clock, successfully stopping it. However, just before the person started to relax, the door opened, and excited footsteps rushed over to the person in bed.
"Come on, Mella, wake up! You can't be sleeping in on your last day of school!" A groan was the only response the excited young lady received. The lady pouted, deciding to take matters into her own hands to wake up her lazy sister. She grabbed her sister's arm. . . and proceeded to drag her out of bed.
The young sister fell to the ground with a pained 'oof'. "All right, all right! I'm up..!" She yawned, attempting to wipe away her drowsiness. The lady grinned in victory, laughing at her sister's behavior. "Come on, it's your last day as a junior in high school! Don't you wanna get it over with and help me out with my business?"
"Beeeth...that was years ago! I wasn't thinking about all the responsibilities I'd have now...!" Mella got up and quickly, although with struggle, pushed her sister out the door. "Now let me change or else I might actually be late to school!"
She slammed the door shut, hearing the muffled laughter of her older sister slowly fade away. She let out a soft sigh as a smile found its way onto her face. She rushed into her closet and gathered up a random outfit to wear: a pale gray shirt with blue jeans. She quickly changed into it, stumbling a little as she tried to keep from falling. Once finished, she grabbed her favorite blue jacket and tied it to her waist temporarily, putting on her brown boots afterwards.
She walked out of her room and into the bathroom to brush her teeth and hair, deciding to do both at the same time, however that didn't work out too well, so she quickly finished brushing her teeth and moved on to her hair. She brushed the tangles out of her hair as she spat out the leftover toothpaste in her mouth.
When she finished, she washed her face and left the bathroom to grab a quick breakfast. She grabbed a granola bar, draping her backpack over her left shoulder, however, before she could take even one step out the door, she felt a hand grab the collar of her shirt from behind. "Bethanyyy! I need to go!" She whined while her sister dragged her back into the dining room and sat her on a chair.
"You will not leave until you eat actual breakfast. I can't have you going to school on an empty stomach!" Bethany put her hands on her hips, playfully glaring at Mella. Mella let out a whine as she said, "I won't be going on an empty stomach. I have a granola bar!"
"Not enough!" Bethany replied, leaving the room to let her sister eat. Mella groaned, rolling her eyes as she ate the pancakes Bethany made for her. She let out a noise of content. She really did enjoy Bethany's cooking.
Once she was done, she gave Bethany a quick hug before dashing out the door, yelling out a goodbye. Bethany smiled softly as she watched her sister leave. "Have a good day..!" She called out, before closing her eyes and turning away to close the door.
