"'Some people, I believe, consider both parts of Red Like Roses to be one song.'" The note exposited. "'They were released in the same soundtrack, hell this is what was playing over your fight with the Nevermore,'" Team RWBY smiled at that memory. "'But while the focus of Red Like Roses Part 1 was more on Team RWBY, even it played during Ruby's trailer, Red Like Roses Part 2 is more focused, and in character. It's from the perspective of Ruby Rose and...one other. You'll be able to tell by the different singer, Casey's mother actually, and...I wish I could say more, but there's stuff keeping me. Well, good luck.'"

"...Well that was ominous." Nora was 100% saying the obvious on purpose at this point.

"...Well, let's get started, then." Ruby declared.

[I couldn't take it
Couldn't stand another minute]

"Wait, this is a Ruby song?" Nora questioned. "Kinda sounds...dark."

"Well we can't all be happy all the time." Ruby muttered, dreading where this was going, Weiss looking at her with concern.

"...Yeah, true enough." Nora admitted.

[Couldn't bear another day
Without you in it]

"So, is this about someone?" Jaune asked. "Cause the note didn't mention that."

"Yeah I'm...pretty sure it is." Yang replied, just as concerned as Ruby. It was Blake's turn to look in concern.

[All of the joy that
I had know throughout my life]

"It wasn't very long, but it hurt," Ruby continued. "I think-I think-" she began as Yang looked over in concern.

[Was stripped away from me
The minute that you died!]

"...It's about Mom." Ruby finished. The others just took that in. Admittedly, in hindsight, given Summer Rose's presence in the Intro and the oblique references to her, they probably should have expected this.

Didn't make it easier, though. Weiss & Blake reached out to their partners. Jaune & Pyrrha looked in concern, while Ren & Nora looked on in...more understanding. Glynda just looked to the side, and Ozpin just closed his eyes again.

[To have you in my life was
All I ever wanted]

"I didn't really ever know her, but..." Ruby began. "Yang knew her better than I did, but..."

"...It still hurts". Weiss finished, to which Ruby just weakly nodded.

[But now without you
I'm a soul forever haunted]

"I knew...I knew I was missing something, especially when I got older." Ruby elaborated. "And-and you know, I have Yang, an-and Dad, and Uncle Qrow, but..."

Ruby was just rambling at this point. No matter how much she thought she was ready for this, well as she said earlier, it's not gonna be easy.

[Can't help but feel that
I had taken you for granted]

"Ruby, you were a kid." Yang pointed out. "You couldn't have known."

"We were both kids, Yang." Ruby replied. "I didn't get it at first, but..." Yang just lowered her head at that.

[No way in hell that I could
Ever comprehend this]

"I was...really young when it happened." Ruby explained to those who didn't know. "I didn't really get it. It...it took a while." Zwei whined in Ruby's lap, sensing one of his human's discomfort.
