Solace

sometimes I just want to be alone
alone as I stare in solitudes embrace,
No footsteps echo, no voices near,
Just whispers of the wind, tender and clear.

I am alone, but I am not lonely
a plethora of thoughts, like a starlit canopy
I sit in silence, but I am not silenced
For I can find solace in the depths of my soul.

No need for masks, no need to pretend
for being alone is my greatest friend.
Some call it sad, but I see this
a beautiful world of solidarity bliss.

As the world progresses,
laced with menace,
I linger back and stay still
alone, but never truly torn

"being alone means you are broken"
Is something that people often say
but oh I cannot change their minds
because who believes words on a page?

No need for grandeur, no need for show,
Just the gentle rhythm of my hearts own flow
For in the broken rhymes of solitude's embrace,

I find the solace that time cannot erase.
