Marina Elizabeth Black was raised in a loving environment, her mother owned her own restaurant and her is. father a successful writer of all sorts of books, movies and (if you payed him a shit ton of money) speeches.

Thanks to her father being a writer, as a kid she often found herself at Logan Roy's very big building, where her father (sometimes) would be writing the script of today's news.

Thanks to her father being good at his job, he formed a strong friendship with Logan Roy, making both of their families very closed.

Marina could still remember the day she met the Roy family, she was wearing her favorite strawberry dress and her hair was styled in two ponytails. She remembers three year old Shiv hiding behind a ten year old Kendall and a five year old Roman laughing at her. She could also remember a very angry Logan hitting Roman on the arm for laughing at Shiv.

Marina never understood why her father would be friends with a man like Logan Roy, a man who was so cruel that would hit his five year old child instead of calmly talking to him on why he shouldn't do such thing like that, her father would always do that with her when she would do or say something she wasn't allowed to and it always worked.

There wasn't a year both families would see each other at least four times, and Marina hated it everytime.

And the only escape Marina had was when she started college, but not even there she could take a break from the Roy's.

It turned out that Kendall was in Harvard too, and although for Marina was torture for Kendall was fun to annoy her every chance he got.

It was always the same, Marina would be walking to a class, Kendall would be outside with his friend Stewy and when Kendall caught sight of her, he would drag Stewy with him and annoy Marina and Stewy would just watch how angry Marina was and how fun it was for Kendall.

And from the on, their encounters were always like that.
