Her fingertips grazing on the photo as she held it in her hands, inspecting it. Rethinking about what Hoshi had said, wishing that it was as easy as taking a picture then she would've already be home by now.
continuing to put the picture at her wallet, before putting it back at her bag, now waiting patiently for Azurè to come back with food he said he'd get them both.
The time currently is 4:30 something the last time she checked, they were allowed to leave the school premise.
As much as she wanted to go home early but She was supposed to go home with Ivana.
But the girl in question couldn't be contacted so Y/n speculated she's busy. Y/n wanted to find her, but Azure insisted that he saw Ivana and confirmed that she was indeed busy with her booth.
Making Y/n spending the remaining afternoon with Azure. Even so she's enjoying her time with him, truth be told he isn't bad as the fandom of the book made him to be.
But a gut feeling of her kept telling her to find Ivana, or an unexplainable feeling that regards about her friend. Wishing that it was nothing, so she brushed it off.
Azure came into her sights after a few minutes of waiting, carrying two corndogs and ice two cream, quickly she stood up to help him carry it, he thanked her as he settled comfortably at the bench to settle down.
"How much is the corn dog and the ice cream?"
"I didn't get to give you the money, you left suddenly."
"It's on me." He replied while eating ice cream, Y/n looked at him with an eyebrow raise, 'Is this my last meal? Is it because Ivana isn't spending time with him?!' Again with those thoughts entering her brain, the longer she stays in the world that's not hers, makes her anxious, fearing that she won't wake up to see another day.
'To be fair he wanted me to stay!'
"Don't think too much about it."
"As i said, it's on me." He glared at her seeing as she's about to open her bag, "Ok damn." "Thank you." She muttered softly before eating her food.
"What's the event by the way?" She turned to Azure, after realizing she hasn't asked what event was being held, it could be a festival. Based on how festive the school has been, only having morning classes, but she was curious what kind of event was it.
"You don't have to ask stupid questions to break the silence Y/n." He sighed while giving her a sympathetic smile, "I don't mind basking in your presence alone."
"I'm serious, i genuinely don't know." Azure paused, as he observed her facial features to see if she was lying. "It's the 115th anniversary of La Sales University." Y/n's eyes lit up upon hearing his response, "Really?!" He nodded.
"That explains everything."
"How long will the celebration last?"
"Three days, this is the 1st."
"Wow, three days for an anniversary?" She muttered.
Her eyebrows furrowed, her eyes looking away from the game console on her hand, trying not to strain her eyes. Yet her eyes were stinging from the tears she's holding back. Ivana was seated at the first platform of a nearby stair she can find.
Distracting herself from the aching feeling on her chest. Y/n, didn't seem to bother contacting her for hours of not seeing her, she feels saddened by it. Shouldn'tg she suppose to be with her?! Not with the weirdo named Azure. "That thing will melt if you glare at it like that."
Glancing at Christina who approached her with a grin on her face, "What do you want?"
"Nothing." She replied, sitting beside Ivana.
Ignoring her presence as she turned her attention back at the console, silently cursing the girl for distracting her, almost leading her to losing a round.
"Let's go home together."
"No thank you." Quick to shut her request down without sparing Christina a glance, "I'm wounded."
"Anyone is dying to go home with me, and yet you wasted it all willy nilly."
Rolling her eyes, still fixated on the screen as she refused to look at the girl's direction.
"Ask them instead and stop bothering me."
"Guess Y/n should've been here for you to stop acting all prissy huh?" Clicking her tongue in annoyance, she stood up slinging the bag unto her shoulders, leaving Christina who's laughing at Ivana. "So i was right?!" She shouted, quite unsure if she heard it, but for sure she should've.
Her laughter died down, now left in silence.
"Shit." Christina mumbled under her breath, exhaling in an exaggerated manner, she took her cellular device from the pockets of her uniform, opening it as she went to the contacts.
Putting the phone to her ear, she waited for the other line to pick up;
"Hello?, Christina?"
"Hey Miranda, are you free right now?"
It's been awhile since Y/n has been standing on the front gate, in hopes to see Ivana before going home, since Azure and her had already parted ways already, now she's waiting for her friend.
Sending an apologetic message to Samuel who's parked at the school's parking lot, when Y/n mentioned she won't be going out the school anytime soon.
A relived sigh exited Y/n as she sees Ivana from a distance. "Ivana!" She called to the girl who looked like in a daze as she trudged towards the gates of the university.
She looked at Y/n, the heavy feeling on her heart has seemingly lifted. She should've ignored her as revenge, but before she knew it Ivana never ran faster than that particular moment.
"Hi! I didn't see you the whole afternoon-" she was cut off when engulfed on a hug, "I'm tired." Ivana mumbled against her shoulders.
"I don't have anyone picking me up right now." She followed now detaching herself from the hug, "Well then, let's go home Ivana."
'That's right, the others are establishments that she spends her whole day with, but she is her home, Y/n will always come back to her.'
Hours had passed, and just like that the Y/n has once again completed a day. Well survived another day.
Walking inside her room, throwing her school bag at the floor, cursing herself mentally for not bringing it back to her room when she arrived home, the box that Hoshi provided was nudged out of its supposed hiding place due to the impact.
Taking it from the floor, she opened it thinking about messing with Hoshi if she placed an item that's not supposed to be there, retrieving her wallet from her bag, taking the picture out.
Giggling to herself, she wasn't told not to put unnecessary items there, if there's a catastrophic aftermath, Hoshi will take care of it either ways. 'I hope.' Opening the box as she placed the photograph inside.
Suddenly the box started to glow, and then someone was clapping at the side of her room, turning to the perpetrator her heart was about to leap out of her chest to see Hoshi standing there with a boisterous smile on his face.
"Congratulations on your first heist Y/n!"
She stared at him and at the box again, processing what he just said.
"What?!"
