Large pink flowers grew in abnormally large amounts, and their size was well that of a house. White Lily was beginning to wonder if she would find any sign of human life.
Travelling for days and not seeing anything but vegetation was a bit disappointing. Perhaps her questions could never be answered. The reason for her existence forever kept under-
*boing*
Swiftly, her head turned to her feet, and there her eyes landed on a small green...blob? "You..." She felt confused and tried to shoo it away with the bottom of her staff, but then stopped and realized what it was.
The smudged pictures in the books she and Pure Vanilla read had a similar appearance to the blob at her feet. Yeast spores, the things that made up the very body, thriving on the continent of beast yeast.
"Incredible..."
The spores grew in number, floating around her and creating a soft green light. She extended her hand, wrapped in green cloth, and let the creatures gather around it.
"I've never seen anything like it...despite the endless research I've done. This place still continues to amaze me..."
Maybe now, if life could indeed flourish, and if the texts were true, she could ask where a person's life came from, what made them worth existence. The origin of life, she had to know.
I must reveal it...! The secret of creation! Her thoughts rang as a grounding reminder of her task. The deeper she tread into the large forests with her new floating followers, the more her anticipation grew.
The tree tops were so high she couldn't see where they ended, the green leaves falling every time the wind blew. The atmosphere was almost eerie, the rustle of brush and the creak of branches making her feel incredibly small. White Lily swung her hair around her shoulders, holding it so the ends would not get caught on any twigs or mug.
She remembered, while she traveled, how she imagined beast yeast would look back in her student days. Perhaps it would be the same as crispia, with some mountains or deserts here or there, but never would she think that the continent would be filled with gigantic organisms that rivaled even the height of crispia's mountians.
In the distance, after arriving at a clearing on top of a hill, she could see a ways across the land. All trees as far as the eye could see, hiding what flourished within. No sign of human life...but that didn't mean they didn't exist. She just had to look.
Every child at the magic academy heard tales of faerie like cookies. People blessed with wings and tasked by the creators to protect a giant tree. Myths, the teachers would say. They'd never seen any sort of thing. While her professors could t find anything, perhaps she could.
Before she started making her way down, a glimmer hit her eyes.
Pausing, she looked back up at the horizon. Was that part to the east always so glittery? Maybe it was just something belonging to beast yeast that sparkled? White Lily never read anything about glimmering skies.
Her staff helped her descend, and soon she made her way over in the general direction of the glimmer. She could no longer see it, as she was under the trees, but still her feet carried her.
After about twenty minutes of climbing over large raised roots and walking through canyon like crystal stone walls, she entered a clearing. The grass looked like it had been stepped on, flattened in some areas. When White Lily inspected, she peered closely at the print. It seems about the size of a foot.
Before she could observe any longer, a faint voice came to her by wind. Her head turned in the direction, curious as to what the sound belonged to...
