I woke up after having slept for a good amount of time, the sun was just barely peeking out creating a rather beautiful golden color in the sky. It was early in the morning. Though, strangely, Great Sage didn't wake me up...
<Notice. You have awakened before the designated time that was stated.>
Just say I woke up early.
<You woke up early.>
Well, at least she is following her commands...
I switched out my clothes and began preparing for the day.
I was wondering what I should make myself. Maybe something with rice? Should I have curry with Fran? We still had a load of extra hamburgers but those weren't an early morning sort of meal so likely something like Miso and some rice.
As I finished my daily necessities, I went to Fran's room and woke her up.
"Nn..."
"Fran, don't forget, we'll be having curry."
"Nn!? R-right!"
Fran quickly woke up and was already excited for the rest of the day.
She quickly prepared herself for the rest of the day.
Once she was completely ready, I began to pull out some meals from the Pocket Dimension.
"Curry! Curry! Curry!"
"Hmhm, hope you enjoy it!"
It was one thing to eat a delicious meal, it was another to watch someone enjoy what you made. I had made that plate of curry myself after having gotten Great Sage's instructions on how to perfect it. It was a bit hard to follow Great Sage at first but since Fran was happily enjoying the curry, I felt like I did a great job.
I pulled out some of my food including Rice and Miso Soup.
"Itadakimasu."
I bowed before eating, it seemed like Fran noticed.
"Eta...daki?"
"Oh."
I remember what this one means thankfully!
"It means 'Thank you for the meal.'"
"Nn? Who are you thanking? You made it."
"Uh..."
<Answer. Itadakimasu tends to not just thank the cook for the meal but also those who worked throughout the process to create the meal. This would include the farmers who harvested the rice and those who assisted in distributing the ingredients of the meal. This term can also be expanded to include all aspects of organic life that had been sacrificed to create the meal. It can be seen as a way to thank the gods for allowing a bountiful harvest that provided the means to eat healthily.>
As a way to thank the gods huh?
Well, I guess the people here did believe in the gods... now that I think about it, how exactly did people worship the gods in this world?
They probably had a church somewhere right? Some place of worship I would assume was nearby...
Hm...
"Master?"
"Oh, sorry, I was thinking about it for a bit. It's another way to thank the gods and those who helped with creating the meal like the plants that make up the meal or the people who helped obtain the rice so you could buy it at the store."
"Oh!... Should I say E-ta-daki... um..."
"Itadakimasu. You don't need to but if you want to, I'll be happy to teach you."
