Okay, you're not lost yet, just find 457 and you'll be fine. I thought this to myself as I searched the airport for my gate. Oh, why did I have to drink that green tea? Now I've got to pee. Standing on tiptoe to see farther, my eyes spot the gate. Thank God! I quickly relieve myself in the restroom. As I make my way down to where the sign points, it looks like a lot of people. I was right. It's packed. Great. The only available seat is next to...a really cute guy, who's reading a book. Maybe all those years of praying are finally paying off. With as much grace as I can muster, I sit down next to him. A glance at the pages tells me the book is 'A Spot of Bother', by Mark Haddon. "Great book," I say, removing my coat. The guy looks up. He's got gorgeous, wavy locks, beautiful brown eyes, and a lovely crooked smile, as he responds, "Yeah, I just started reading it. Do you read a lot of Haddon?" Taking a drink of water, I go, "I've read three. This one, his poetry collection, but my favorite is the Curious Incident of the Dog In the Night-Time." He wrinkles his brow. "Hm. I'll have to read that one." Sticking out his hand, he says, "My name's Josh." I shake it firmly. "Y/N." Josh puts away his book. "So, do you fly often?" Chewing my lip, I reply, "No, but I hope to do more of it. I'm going to NY for college and staying there." He grins. "I live in New York. I'm going back home." I wink. "Maybe we'll see each other often. New York, NY?" Josh nods. "So we will." Over the intercom, the lady exclaims, "Flight 457, to New York, NY, now departing." We grab our bags, and line up, tickets ready. I venture, "You don't mind if I sit with you, right? I mean, plane trips can get boring." Beaming, he promises, "Not with me, they won't. I know lots of useless Star Wars trivia." Could he be any more perfect? We board, and just as Josh said, there's never a dull moment. Whether it's trivia, his killer music playlist, or just talking, the two of us made an otherwise boring event, fun. After landing and retrieving our suitcases-or in his case, duffel-Josh says, "Well, it was awesome being on a flight with you. I do hope we see more of each other." Once again, he sticks his hand out. Luckily, I'm prepared. Quickly, I slap my palm against his, so as not to drop the slip of paper with my phone number on it. "It was lovely meeting you, too." I walk away, only turning back for a brief second to see Josh grinning from cheek to cheek.
