Her head swung up in an instant, trying to find some hope in the sky. The pupils of her eyes constricted due to the stark sunlight dispersed throughout the atmosphere. The wind swiftly moved her hair and uniform in unison as she was surrounded by the blue-ness of the bright and clear sky. She placed her hands in a curve against her forehead to restrict some of the sunlight hitting her, so that she could get a better glimpse at the sky trying to find a much stronger signal of hope.
She did this not because she was just a mere sentimental person, but because she was trying to survive today, like any other day that has passed and that will come. Giving herself the moment to absorb the sky gives her a sense of security, a sense of lightness, and hope. The hope that has arisen from the darkness of her past 17 years of life. 'When will life end.... or begin?' 'What is life?'. She always asked herself. Not only today, but every single day. From the day she was born and had planned to stick asking until her death. The definition of life was something that fascinated her. People come and go, as they enter the world through a womb and later seep into the depths of the earth for further decaying. The reality of being a human. She questioned the motif of people that lead them to their hustle in life. What was her's? That's another aspect she wonders about the life. The life of people.
* Thump *
"I'm sorry"
"It's all good "
'Damn man. He ruined my moment. He probably weighed 75 kg. I mean why does the collision impact hurt more than it should? Ugh I hate my life'. Hava looked at the back of the boy that had just bumped into her as he was running towards the gates of their school. 'A surprise I guess'. Unlucky enough, her day was ruined by this surprise.
She took a moment to examine her surroundings to regain her composure - and noticed that once where there were many people, now there were none. The silence really comforted her and she smiled. Hava gradually walked towards the gates of her school, mostly because she was gonna enter school earlier or later anyway. So, why not now? *Sigh* 'It is funny how life passes by, I only have a year left in high school'. She thought to herself. It is true, where does life go?
Hava walked to her class room which was on the second floor.
"Yo Hava, what's up"
A tall slender girl about 2 inches taller approaches Hava. Her hair brown and slightly wavy along with her curtain bangs that shape her face perfectly which does not go unnoticed by Hava.
"Nothing much Oriella, did you study for today's chem quiz?"
Hava looks at Oriella, her friend, with attention not due to curiosity but out of curtiness.
"Well shit... it is what it is"
Oriella admits to her defeat.
"Girl, you had a weekend to study for. Always slacking off huh??"
Although Hava knows Oriella well enough, she still asks her. It is something among students to lie and deceive each other when it comes to grades and Hava was very aware of this.
"You know me"
Oreilla winks at Hava playfully. However, Hava doesn't take this by heart. She smiles, rolls her eyes playfully and walks away. Both the Girls walk into their chemistry class which started 2 mins ago.
*Announcement* : All students must be escorted to the gym right now. Starting with grade 12's.
Hava and Oriella, currently in physics class, look at each other as something like this has never happened before.
