Awkwardness and an illness

Byakuya's P.O.V.

We were leaning in . She had closed her eyes and slowly I closed mine too. I could feel her breath on my lips as we were an inch away but then " Meinnel!" Takanori yelled and I backed quickly as she did and looked towards her. " What happened Takanori?" She asked trying to act calmly her voice shaking a bit " I thought you left I was looking everywhere for you." Meinnel rubbed her head and stood up " I'm sorry I was just bored all alone and I came here ." she covered up and left with Takanori. I sighted felling my heart race as I thought about what was going to happen . 'Now she will be all awkward around me' I thought sighting again and I contuined staring at the pond lost in thoughts.

Meinnel's P.O.V.

'Byakuya and I were about to kiss!!!' I practically screamed in my head as I followed Takanori back to her room not listening to a thing of what she said just nodding and agreeing at the parts I listened to . I just couldn't take that off my mind. When we reached her room she lied on her bed and started reading a book and talked to me about Toshiro. I had understood she liked him very much and I was going to help those two. Also from what I could understand Rukia's relationship with Ichigo is kept a secret from Byakuya. I kept listening to her talking until I drifted to a peaceful slumber.

~ Next Morning ~

I woke up at around 6 am and Takanori as everyone was still sleeping. I quietly finished my morning routine dressing up in tight dark blue jeans and an oversized sweater I had bought because I liked being in buggy clothes. I put my hair in a messy bun and started packing my things . Dad told me he would be back in the afternoon so I wanted to be there earlier to make dinner . The house would be clean thanks to the maids so I would leave after breakfast. Is not that I wanted to leave so badly is just that I felt awkward after what happened with Byakuya . I mean OK I'm crushing on him but I just can't look at him in the eyes after that. And I don't like feeling awkward. I packed all my things and double checked all the places I had been in the house to make sure I hadn't forgotten anything. I walked in the kitchen and ate some cake and then told the maids to inform Takanori about my leaving and I left.

I was walking all the way home with my headphones on listening to ' World so cold' by 12 Stones and I was feeling really bad . I felt like I had been played on and I didn't want to go out ever again. When I got in home I gave to a made my things and told her to put them in my wardrobe and where the things should go. I walked in the my room and fell with my face onto my bed , staring blankly at my mirror.

~ 3 hours later ~

I was still there in my room , laying on my bed, looking blankly at the mirror ignoring the phone calls. Takanori had called 4 times , dad had called 2 times and then Rukia kept calling on the houses phone and the maids pissed me off coming every so often in my room to tell me I had a phone call. I kept telling them to say I wasn't there or that I was sleeping . After half an hour somebody knocked on my door and I looked to see dad walk in slowly looking worried " What's wrong princess?" I sighted and sat up looking at him " I'm just not in the mood dad . I feel awful." I said and he sat next to me " Why sweety? Did something happen while you were in the Kuchiki house?" He asked and I shook my head " No I just felt down on my own . Did you have dinner?" He hooded and smiled softly at me " Yeah it was amazing thank sweety ." I smiled leaving a small evil laugh " Sorry dad to disappoint you but it was take out food from the restaurant down the road ." I explained and he laughed " I knew it I saw the bag . Did you eat anything all day?" I shook my head " No " he was worried and checked my temperature " You don't have fever but you look really pale . I can't say where is your hair and where's your cheeks." He said smiling and I laughed and nodded " I bet only a pair of blue eyes are visible." He smiled " Its sapphire eyes ." he said and I nodded but then my stomach growled and he gave the this-is-what-you-get-for-not-eating look and I laughed following him to the kitchen and eating dinner before changing in my PJs and falling asleep.

Next morning I woke up I was shivering and felt dizzy. I felt like there was a giant rock on me and I barely was able to move my hand to close the alarm and then dad walked in holding a tray with chocalte milk , pancakes , syrup and strawberries." Morning princess ." he said with his usual grin and I smiled and talked but not my normal voice but a deep truck mans voice that was like a whisper and I ended up coughing in the end letting my head fall back to the pillow because I felt it was heavy . Dad immediately left the tray on my desk and walked over to me sitting down and touching my forehead " God you have fever and a high one too ." I smiled weakly and looked outside at the gray dull cloudfilled sky and sighted " Is it going to rain?" I asked with my deep sick voice and he smiled at me " You care more for the weather than your health?" I smiled a bit and shook my head " No just wondering." He nodded and left to call the doctor and I ate my breakfast looking out of the window noticing five umbrellas walking towards my house. If I guessed right they were Takanori, Rukia, Ichigo, Toshiro and Rangiku then the doorbell rang and I heard the door open . I couldn't understand what they were saying but I saw them walk away from the house and dad came in again " Your friends came by and I told them you were sick and the doctor will come here soon ." I nodded as I continued looking out of the window .I wonder if any of them will miss me today .

Byakuya's P.O.V.

Its lunch break and I saw Takanori and Rukia without Meinnel . I asked them where she was and they told me she was sick and stayed home . I sighted and walked back to my class to eat my lunch since it was raining and John came and joined " You know Byakuya I've been thinking about something." He said and I nodded " What is it?" I said not really interested eating my food " I was thinking of asking Meinnel out ." he said and I nearly spit my food out but kept my conposure and continued eating " Why is that ? I thought you were calling her a brat ." I said not looking at him " Truth is I started to like her . She's something special in comparison to all the other girls." He said and I kept thinking over his words " Yeah she is...."
