Chapter 9: "I do love a ball."

Yvette was at Bonnie's place, Amelie opting to stay in for the day.

She was making breakfast when Caroline ran in.

"Caroline," she noted. "Hello." She greeted with a smile and a wave.

"Hi, Amelie," Caroline greeted back. "Where's Stefan or Damon?"

Amelie pointed her hand towards the living room and Caroline dashed towards the room.

Well, that wasn't odd, Amelie thought to herself.

Amelie was done with the pancakes and brought them to the living room, adding Caroline's share.

"Who wants pancakes?" Amelie asked.

Caroline grabbed one and so did Damon. Stefan looked deep int thought. Amelie was not even sure even he'd heard her.

She turned to Damon. "So, why is Stefan wearing his serious thinking face?" Amelie asked.

"We're going to kill Katherine." Damon told her.

Amelie's mouth opened before it closed then opened again. "And how do you suppose that would be done?"

Before Damon could speak, Stefan spoke. "You're not going to kill her."

Damon's face twisted in annoyance. "Don't give me that goody-goody crap." He warned.

"You're not going to kill her." Stefan reaffirmed.

Damon gave him a look that seemed to say, 'Don't try to stop me.' "Oh, really?" He asked.

"Because I am." Stefan told his brother, eliciting a smirk from Damon.

Amelie chuckled. "What an infallible, foolproof plan." Sarcasm dripped out of every syllable. She knew he'd just lost his girlfriend due to Katherine's antics, she'd heard the crying, but he was being impulsive and irrational.

"We're getting to the plan, Millie." Damon told her, his face distorted due to his annoyance.

"Alright then, if you need my help..."

"We know," Stefan told her with a small smile.

Amelie nodded, smiling back before she turned to Caroline. "You." She pointed a finger at her and gave a come here motion .

Caroline was wide-eyed but she moved towards the spectramorph.

"Yes?"

"I hear you like shopping," Amelie told her.

Caroline's eyes lit up in excitement. "Y-yes! I live for it!"

"Great, because we're going to Fairfax to get an outfit for Yvette and I to wear," Amelie told the blonde. "Do you want anything?"

Caroline nodded her head profusely as she jumped up in excitement.

"Let's go," Amelie told her, motioning to the door.

Caroline turned to the Salvatore brothers. "Text if you need us to do anything."

Caroline was over the moon with excitement. She had not gotten the chance to shop in a while, especially with everything that was happening recently.

Amelie smiled at her, amused by her eagerness. "You can buy whatever you want, Caroline."

Caroline grinned happily. "I think I just fell in love with you!"

Amelie chuckled again, entering the store and motioning for Caroline to join her.

Back at the Salvatore house, Yvette had woken up and came downstairs with Bonnie, who had stayed over from last night.
