Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Mutant Mayhem

~Prologue~

New York: 2013

It is a cold and stormy night in the bustling New York City. The rain came pouring down as if a hurricane was passing by, hardly no one was outside and they were inside in their warm houses. But inside a small house on Crosby Street, inside a work office, a Japanese man in his late 30's was rushing in his work files as if he was trying to find something important.

 The man's name is Aiko Kimura and he was a former scientist who worked at TCRI and was learning about the ooze with his partner Baxter Stockman. But Baxter died in a house explosion 5 years ago, at least that's what Cynthia Utrom, the leader of TCRI told him so Aiko had to work by himself to recreate the ooze. But Aiko overheard a conversation with Cynthia and Spider about them building a mutant army much to his shock. So he quit his job since he didn't want to be apart of that madness much to Cynthia's anger, it was chill for about a month until Aiko found out that TCRI were tracking him to get him and his work and even worst...his family.

Aiko rapidly stuffed as much paperwork as he can into a briefcase before going to a drawer before pulling it open and grabbing a file. He sets it down and puts important notes he took at TCRI and grabbed a pencil writing on the file calling it 'PROJECT RENAISSANCE' and then put it in his briefcase. After closing the case, Aiko sits down in his chair taking off his glasses and rubbing his temple to take a breather. At that moment, a young woman in her early 30's stands by the doorway. Her name is Sakura Kimura and she is Aiko's wife, Aiko felt her presence and turned around. 

"Are you ready?" Sakura asked to which Aiko nodded.

"Yes." He replied. They then head out of their house in their raincoats rushing to their car and getting in where sitting in the back were their two kids, Emi who is 5 and their son Takeo who is only 2. Aiko then starts the car and starts driving in the rain.

"Mommy, Daddy, where are we going?" Emi asked innocently.

"We're going to Mei Mei's house for a bit. Are you excited to see Mei Mei?" Aiko asked while glancing at the rear mirror to look at his daughter. 

"Yes I am!" Emi grinned showing her tooth gap grin and Takeo cooed happily.

"Yeah, I am too..." Sakura looked at her husband in worry as they stopped near a shop called 'Wong's Flowers'. All of the family gets out of the car and rush inside to get out of the rain. Once they were inside, they were greeted by the owner of the shop, an elderly Chinese woman named Mei-Wong.

"Hey Mei, sorry we're late. This rain had us slow down a bit." Sakura panted as she took off her rain jacket hood.

"Oh there is no need to apologize. You are here now and that's all that matters," Mei-Wong then looks at Emi and Takeo and smiles, "Hi kids."

"Mei-Mei!" The young children say at the same time and hug her. She chuckles and hugs them back.

"It's good to see you two. Oh, you are growing up so fast. Do you want a snack, we'll head into the kitchen and I'll get you two a treat." 

"Okay we will. C'mon Takeo." Emi takes Takeo's hand and they head into the kitchen. Once they were gone, Mei-Wong turned toward the couple.

"How is it Aiko? It's not that bad is it?" She asked concerned.

"No, it's worse," Aiko sighed rubbing his temple, "Spider and his team are still after me. They will stop at nothing until they get my work." 

"Oh my god." Mei-Wong gasped. 

"That's why we're here Mei, we need to ask you a huge favor. Can you please watch over our kids? I know it's a lot to ask but Cynthia will want all of us-"

"No, it's not too much to ask," Mei-Wong interrupts Sakura, "The situation has gotten out of hand. You and your whole family are in danger and it breaks my heart thinking about it. But I will protect the kids with my life, you are like family to me." Sakura tears up and engulfs her into a hug.

"Thank you so much." She whispered.

"You have no idea how happy we are." Aiko said.

"Of course, it is an honor to do this." Little did they know that little Emi was peaking behind the wall listening to the conversation. We're her parents leaving, but why? She was so confused. Carefully she walked towards them and asked, "What's going on?"

"Oh Emi-we didn't hear you." Aiko said.

"Are you and mommy leaving?" The adults froze and looked at each other not knowing what to say. But then Sakura waked up and kneeled down looking at her daughter.

"Emi, I need to tell you something. Me and daddy...are going to be gone for a while for a business trip. You and Takeo are staying here and Mei-Mei is gonna take care of you two."

"But you will come back right?" Emi asked softly. Sakura paused for a moment thinking of something to say before getting an idea, she reached into her pocket pulling out a butterfly clip.

"Do you know what this is?" Sakura asked, Emi shook her head.

"This is a butterfly clip, in Japan it has said to guide us and our spirits to the afterlife for us. I want you to have it," She took her daughters small hand and places the clip in her hand. Emi looks at the clip before back up at her mom.

"If you ever miss me, this clip will let you think of me so you don't get sad." 

"Really? Don't worry mommy, I'll take good care of it." Emi smiled. Seeing her daughter happy made Sakura smile. She then kissed her forehand and hugged her tearing up, "I love you my little butterfly."

"I love you too mommy." Sakura then looked at Takeo who Mei-Wong was holding and kissed her son.

"And I love you my little Takeo." Takeo babbled and kissed her cheek. The couple then get their jackets back on. They then said their last goodbyes before heading out the door and toward their car. Near the window Emi watches as her parents get into the car and then drive away into the rain and into the darkness of night. She looks at the butterfly clip in her hand and then places it in her hair before looking back at the rainy skies thinking about her mom's words.
