-Lill-
I stare at my reflection in the mirror in my bathroom. I see the red cuts from my father's hand. I accidentally recited a Bible verse wrong. So my punishment is to be struck in the face.
My family, my father, mother, my five older siblings, and my younger sister, are very highly religious. We go to church every Wednesday night and Sunday morning. We read the Bible three times a day, pray in the morning, before every meal, and before bed. Every day.
It grows quite tired some. I mean, I like it, but my father never allows us to do anything else. We can't watch television, read any books besides the Bible, or go to any public functions. Basically trapped in our home. My father always says "The sixth one will always be the troubled one." Which I guess he's right.
"Lill! Breakfast is ready!" My mother calls to me. I sigh and walk downstairs. One thing I'm very excited about, is today I start my junior year of high school. I guess the state looked into that I was having trouble with being homeschooled, so they convinced my father to let me go to public schools, and since all the religious private schools are filled up.
I walk downstairs to my adorable little sister, Bethany, who is eating cereal. I smile at my three year old sister. I sit down and my mother puts the plate of food in front of me. I fold my hands and my mother says a prayer. "In God's name we're grateful for this meal. Bless us and this food and this day. Amen."
"Amen." I open my eyes and start eating. My baby sister starts clapping and smiling. My father comes downstairs and glares at me.
"Eating before prayer?! You ungrateful..."
"Dear, we just said our prayer before you came down." My mother cuts him off. He nods and gets coffee.
"I still don't think she needs to go to public school. John, Elizabeth, Sarah, Jason, and Kevin all graduated from homeschool, and they're all having great careers." He complains.
"I know dear. But she's struggling. I promise she'll be okay. The good lord is watching over and protecting her." My mom reassures him. He sighs and nods.
"I agree hon. Alright, I'm off to work. Lillriana, remember, no getting distracted. School work first, no school activities, and absolutely no boys. I'm serious." He kisses Beth on her head and kisses my mother as he leaves. I sigh and keep eating my breakfast.
My mom looks at me. "What's on your mind sweet heart?" She asks. I shake my head and finish my food. "Well lets get going." We stand up and I grab my bag and we head to my new school.~Vinze~
Another boring day at this shitty school. I smoke my cigarette before I head inside. "Hey Vinze! Bum me one please." My friend Sean asks. I chuckle and hand him one. I may look seventeen, but actually my soul is 18,700 years old. I'm a demon with a human body.
My family and I, find people and devour their souls and blood. It's part of who we are. I, on the other hand, actually hate doing that. I've only done it three times in my whole life. I try usually to people who are evil. They taste good, but I hear the innocent ones taste the best.
"You know Vinze, your family is going to disown you if you keep pushing off devouring. I swear your the only demon to not want to do that." Sean smokes with me.
I sigh and keep smoking. "Yeah well they can piss off. I hate what I am. I admit my powers and abilities are kick ass, but why should I devour souls and blood?" I scoff and toss the butt.
Sean shrugs. "It's what we are bro. We're demons. It's what we do." He finishes too.
I shrug and start walking to the school. I stop dead in my tracks and stare. A young girl walks towards the school. She has long dark red hair, bright green eyes, beautiful flawless pale skin. We lock eyes, and my heart races fast. I smell her sweet scent. She's a pure heart. I see her blush and smile at me. I smirk as she walks passed me and goes into the school.
Sean nudges my arm. "Dude! Check out the religious chick! She's a new girl. Apparently her parents are religious nuts. The state fought to put her in here. She would be perfect for you."
I glare and growl at him. "Touch her and I'll rip you in half." I threaten. Sean stares at me in shock. I never said that before. I turn and walk into the school. She's the one I've been waiting for. My demonic love.
