POV– Wyatt

Dreadful, absolutely dreadful. Anywhere but here. I sigh as I look up at the tall castle going to be my home for the next few days. The building was grand, I'll give it that, but I prefer the cozy village back home any day over this stone-cold castle.

"Come on Wyatt!" My uncle barked, slapping me friendly on the back "Don't look so gloomy; you'll scare away any potential mates" his laugh filled the air, deep and rumbling, reminding me of my dad back home.

"Yes, that is the point" I smile back at him, as he sighs, dropping his smile.

"You already agreed!" he says pointedly "We talked about this. You wanted to find a mate, yes!"

"Of course, uncle, but I hate this stupid mating camps" I breath out in frustration "There's nothing here but horny wolves humping eachother!"

"Yes, exactly! Every twenty-two-year-old dream come true"

Nope, not for me. Mate camp was most certainly not my taste. And I've told him this every time they make me go. But my father and uncle are set on providing the best opportunities for me, and by their account, that meant mating camps.

"I'll be back in a week to pick you guys up," He sighed and forcefully pushed me forward into the hollow dread of doom. "Make sure he doesn't get lost." My uncle barked at my fellow packmates beside me.

"Don't worry, we'll make sure he doesn't do anything stupid!" Billy nods reassuringly back at him.

"Oh, I'm not so worried about the stupid part, if he sees any action I will be more than pleased at this point" My uncle grins, waving us goodbye before jogging back into the forest.

"That's so..." Billy starts, but I cut him off.

"Don't even!" I warn, but as ever, he ignores me.

"...pathetic!" he sing-songs, ending the sentence, and my wolf unraveled inside me.

The energy stirred just beneath the surface, wanting to pin down the disobedient wolf down!

"Sorry, sorry alpha!" he hurriedly added, bowing his head in submission and taking a couple of strides behind me. Well, he better stay the fuck out of my view.

But, I can't even blame the man; he knew who was in charge. He, like everyone else, felt just as stunned as to why I had not yet secured a mate. Given my age, I should be well into the procreating phase, producing an heir and securing the future for my tribe.

We, the wolf-shifters, were known for settling down fast; it was in our nature. Finding our other halves was like finding ourselves, and it was needed most of all in order to subdue our restless wolves. Dominants and submissives fit perfectly together, side by side, like yin and yang - a constant push and pull.

They were all restless, and the wolf tribe needed a Luna. My Luna, my mate.

I took a deep breath and felt the simmering alpha power. Coming from along line of alphas its a gift they say, and it made our pack strong. To be born an alpha was somewhat of a rarity, justified by the moongoddess herself to be given the alpha powers at birth.

Not everyone was as lucky; usually the alphas needed to show their worth, before ascending into great alpha power and be able to lead their packs.

I wish I wasn't so fucking lucky - to me, this was making things a lot more difficult when it came to finding a mate.

"Alpha!" The girl next to me practically moaned, molding her torso into my arm.

I growled a small warning, nothing to dominant, and mostly out of irritation.
