I find myself in the Statistics class with Mỹ Yến, a realization that both surprises and intrigues me. As we delve into the lesson on Measures of Variation, my focus and determination shine through, my mind fully engaged in the material. I meticulously take notes, ask questions, and participate actively in class discussions, determined to excel in my studies.
Meanwhile, Mỹ Yến struggles to grasp the concepts, her attention drifting to other activities and distractions. I can't help but notice the stark difference in their approaches to learning. While I empathize with Mỹ Yến's challenges, I also recognize the importance of diligence and dedication in achieving academic success.
As we work on a group assignment together, I take the lead, guiding Mỹ Yến through the calculations and explaining the concepts in a clear and patient manner. Despite Mỹ Yến's initial reluctance, she begins to my help and gradually gains confidence in her abilities.
Throughout the class, I remain steadfast in my commitment to academic excellence, refusing to compromise my standards or settle for anything less than my best. I saw this opportunity not only as a chance to improve my own skills but also as a means of supporting and uplifting my classmates, including Mỹ Yến. As the lesson concludes, I feel a sense of satisfaction knowing that she has made a positive impact, both academically and personally.
After class, I approach Mỹ Yến with a genuine offer of help to finish the classwork. I notice Mỹ Yến's hesitation and extends a friendly smile, hoping to ease any tension between them.
"Hey, Mỹ Yến, would you like some help with the classwork?" I ask, my tone warm and inviting.
Mỹ Yến's expression tightens slightly, a hint of defiance in her eyes. "I appreciate the offer, but I can manage on my own," she replies curtly.
Undeterred by Mỹ Yến's refusal, I persist, my intention to bridge the gap between them. "Are you sure? I'm happy to lend a hand if you need it. We can work together."
But Mỹ Yến shakes her head, her voice firm and strict as she insists, "I said I'm fine, Thảo Linh. Besides, I prefer to work alone. It's nothing personal. And by the way, you may chat with Vũ Tấn, but you'll never have him. You'll regret this twit." Mỹ Yến continues walking, thinking, Wait and see who will be his choice between us.
As I make my way to the music room later that afternoon, the melodic strains of Vũ Tấn's favorite song, "Dẫu Có Biết Trước," greet me. He sits at the piano, lost in the music, his fingers dancing gracefully over the keys. With a smile, I approach him, carrying a lunchbox filled with his favorite dishes to nourish his health.
"Hey, Vũ Tấn," I say softly, setting the lunchbox down beside him. "I brought you some lunch."
He looks up, a warm smile spreading across his face as he sees me. "Thảo Linh, you didn't have to do that. Thank you."
As he eats, we chat about the song he's practicing. I can't help but feel a flutter of excitement as he plays, his voice filling the room with emotion. "You know," I say, unable to hide my smile, "I feel like you're singing this song just for me."
Vũ Tấn chuckles, a twinkle of amusement in his eyes. "Maybe I am," he teases, before launching into the full version of the song.
I listen intently, swept away by the beauty of his voice and the heartfelt lyrics. When he finishes, I can't contain my enthusiasm. "That was amazing, Vũ Tấn. You have such talent."
He beams at the praise, his eyes shining with happiness. "Thank you, Thảo Linh. I'm glad you liked it."
But before we can continue our conversation, my phone rings, interrupting the moment. It's Nhật Khang, asking if I can help him with his homework at his dorm room. I apologize to Vũ Tấn for the interruption and promise to catch up with him later.
