the most evil thing you can do is make me want you when you never wanted me too
I fought you at the beginning, determined to not let anyone in
every wall you climbed with ease, every defense you overthrew
you didn't give up, you played the game, you wanted to see it to the end
you kissed my forehead and my cheeks, you stroked my long brown hair
what I didn't know at the time was that this was a game, and you do not play fair
I started feeling safe with you, content in your silence and company
I felt myself opening up to the possibility of you, soon after that you chose to run from me
you got me right where you wanted, loving, vulnerable and hopeful
then you took your affection and undid every single word and action, now only anecdotal
you never wanted me or my mind, I was a challenge you couldn't pass up trying
I didn't want to give in but you were kind, you made me feel like I was flying
in the blink of an eye everything I knew was gone, only left with bittersweet memories
you opened up my heart with your bare hands, then chose to make us enemies
you left me questioning everything, not knowing what on earth I was supposed to do
the most evil thing you can do is make me want you when you never wanted me too
