As Rain fell asleep, a dream, caused by the sudden turn of events of that evening with Payu's relatives, made him remember how everything changed between him and his family at the very beginning of his freshman year.
Type was working in his office, suddenly Rain entered, despite Type's assistant trying his best to convince him that his father was too busy to meet him at the moment. As Type saw his angry son in front of him, he took a deep breath and closed his laptop.
"What's wrong, Rain? I have a few things I have to get done before dinner..." Type said, he wasn't angry at all despite his son's behavior, he sound more tired than anything else. Rain handed him a printed paper, it was an email he had just received.
"Oh, they took you, that's great, aren't you happy?" Type remarked. Rain couldn't believe that his father was acting like everything was absolutely normal. He knew that he never sent a request of admission to that specific university, but when he checked his mailbox, he found one...
"You used my mail to send the request, why did you do it? I told you that I could study here, that I would have been happier to do it here instead of getting rejected by a prestigious university" Rain replied.
"I don't understand why you're so mad about it. You didn't get rejected, you got accepted by a prestigious university in the capital city and you should be grateful that I sent that request on your behalf since you were so scared to do that" Type responded with a different and more annoyed tone.
"Of course they accepted, you bribed them, didn't you?" Rain asked.
"I don't know what you're talking about. You will depart next month, I know that you will thank me later just like everyone who gets such a wonderful opportunity to go out of their provincial world" Type answered and looked away. He knew that he was doing the right thing. He stood up and looked at the sea from the window of his attic.
"It is because I asked when I could start to work with you... right?" Rain asked as he looked down at the floor.
"I'm doing it because you need a little push to get a brighter future. You will get more chances to get hired as an architect if you come from a famous university" Type added.
"So that the name of my university can overshadow my incompetence? Because that's clearly the case, since you don't want me to work with you..." Rain whispered.
"Exactly..." Type murmured.
"Wait... what?" Rain couldn't believe that his father had actually said that, he always used to support him, even when his teacher said that Rain wasn't that good for a faculty like architecture, Type had always told him that he knew he could do it, and now he just said that he was... incompetent?
"You heard me..." Type said resolutely as he cleared his throat, he turned back to face his son and continued:
"You're right, I've never accepted to let you work with me because I knew that you would have messed up even the easiest tasks! Now listen, you ungrateful son... you will study in that university, you will get your degree and you will be happy about it! End of story"
Type then refused to see his son for the rest of the month, he just said a very cold good bye when Rain left to get to the capital city.
A.N. What do you think about this flashback? Do you think that Rain doesn't remember well what happened, or it went exactly like that?
