"You really are N'Tin aren't you?" Aunt Pang walked over to me with astunned look on her face. She raised her hand towards my body beforehugging me tightly. I leaned down to gently hug her back. She let go of myhand and looked at my face. Auntie Pang and I met in the ICU whenrelatives were visiting patients. I quickly introduced myself to my aunt andimmediately said that I was the son of Dr. Tul and Gan's mother. She lookedvery happy and excited. "I met N'Tin when you were little. You're ahandsome young man now."
I forced a smile at my aunt's compliment. "Actually, I've been seeingAunt Pang since the night yesterday. But I'm really sorry I didn't recognize you right away."
The middle-aged woman standing in front of me shook her head. "Noproblem. N'Tin has grown up already. I really don't recognize you."
"What about UncleOat?"
"He's just finished work. He'll be here in an hour." Aunt Panglifted her hand and wiped the tears at the corners of her eyes. I quicklywalked up to get a tissue and gave it to my aunt.
"Thank you." She quietly wiped her tears for a moment to hold herselfback before she added more. "Thank you for taking Tol to theEmergency Department. If it wasn't for N'Tol, I don't know whatwould have happened to N'Tol."
I shook my head. "It's nothing. I'm the one who should be apologizingfor the only thing I can do to help you." I looked at me with sad eyes.
I should have done more than that.
Auntie Pang grabbed my hand and hugged me tightly, even though she wasthe one who needed emotional support more than me. "I look at theEmergency Department and see that N'Tin is the best. N'Tin is astalented as Dr. Tul."
I really admire Aunt Pang's spirit. This is not the first time I have talked tothis aunt. I talked to her over and over again when I came to announce Tol'sdeath: "I'm really sorry, the doctor tried his best but he didn't make it."
"Aunt Pang don't worry. There are many people taking care of him. I will also come and take care of you when the shift is over."
Aunt Pang nodded. "I'm so glad to hear that. Thank you, Dr. Tin.N'Tol owes his life to Dr. Tul and Dr. Tin. We're so lucky to know youall."
I talked to Tol's mother for a while longer before bowing and walking out ofthe ICU with heavy emotions. I'm still shocked at the fact that Tol is the boyI've known for a long time. Plus the promise to protect him until we getmarried. Can my childhood innocence be this terrible? I'm old enough tounderstand everything. I shouldn't have considered Tol a girl of that age.
But if what I understand is not wrong then this is the reason why my life isstuck in a loop that as long as Tol will survive, he must marry me.
"Is crazy." I raised my hands to rub my head.
"Ai'Tin, what have youdone?!"

"Since when did you change your mind, why didn't you tell me?"Fakfaeng complained in a sharp voice in the middle of the noodle shop nextto the hospital where we were having dinner. She called me when I wasabout to leave CCU at 6pm that she wanted to go to dinner. I agreed to gowith her because the two of us still meet regularly and talk about eachother's problems.
"I'm not his boyfriend. The nurses just spread rumors. Don't listen toomuch." I said wistfully. Fakfaeng was the first person I had to explainproperly. "He's just someone I know. His mother and my mother arefriends."
"But the way you treat him is more than that. Nurse Mao said that hearranged the hospital bed, kept holding his hand, and fell asleep besidehim." Fakfaeng grinned. "He's more than in a Korean drama, where thefemale lead is in a coma and the male lead takes care of her until shewakes up and the two get married."
