Ever since Christmas day has passed, I've been holed up in my room alone reading books I've collected over the years. Once we're back in classes, I'll barely have any time for pleasure reading, so I have to get it all out of my system now.
I've been on a Jane Austen kick recently, and I picked up Emma at a shop in Hogsmeade. I'm only just at the beginning, but I plan on spending the rest of my day and night reading this, right on into the new year.
It's quite early for me to be up on break, but my sleeping habits have only gotten worse since being home, and I'm lucky to get more than 4 hours a night now.
The day after Christmas, I went to town and bought myself some supplies for the rest of my break. I sip my raspberry lemon tea as I turn the page.
"You're knocking," I hear a young man's voice come from outside of my window.
Odd. Nobody ever really comes this way.
"He's your brother," a different voice grunts back.
I sit up in my bed and wait to hear something else.
"You're a twit."
Because the voices are getting progressively louder, I get out of bed and check to see who's outside. I glance around until I find a ginger and brunette walking towards my house.
What the hell are Ron and Harry doing coming this way? Maybe coming to visit Luna? But Luna isn't home.
I throw on a sweater and skip down the stairs. Somehow, I make it to the front door before they knock. I open the front door and see the two younger boys standing speechless.
"Hello, boys," I offer a slight smile. "What can I do for you?"
Harry Potter stutters for a moment, unable to get the words out. I raise an eyebrow at Ron, wondering if he can tell me what's going on.
He hesitates as his cheeks grow red, "Will you go out tonight?"
I suppress the chuckle that begs to come out, "Pardon? Are you asking if I'm going out tonight?"
Harry clears his throat, "What he meant to say was will you go out with Fred tonight? He's going to town with George to some muggle celebration."
"Yeah, and he wants to know if you'll go with him," Ron adds.
Do I really want to go to party with some muggles? I was planning on readin- Ellie, you sound insane.
"Why not," I grin at them. "Tell Fred I will meet him at yours tonight."
I say goodbye to them and shut the door. Before I've fully walked away, I hear Harry say, "She's so hot it hurts."
I laugh out loud and head back upstairs, this time to pick out an outfit.
-
"Is this a club? I've never been here before," I ask the twins as we stand outside of a building. It's entrance is lit up in neon signs, and the line to get in is exhaustingly long. Various muggles eye us up as we walk along the line to the back.
"Yeah, we found this over the summer. Spent a lot of time here chatting girls up. Well, I was. Fred was too busy dating-" George stops his sentence with a grunt.
Fred purses his lips as he retracts his elbow from George's rib.
I giggle and keep my eyes forward. "This line is gonna take us forever to get in."
Fred scoffs, "Like I'm waiting on that line."
I look up at him confused, but realize that the boys probably have ways to get into everywhere they want to without waiting.
