Chapter 2-Unexpected Mission

The Water Hashira woke up to the bright sun shining through the window and illuminating his face in a golden yellow hue. Giyuu looked out the window with tired eyes trying to tell the time. He understood by how high the sun was, that he slept in late. He slowly made his way off his bed, and got ready in his overly-sized demon slayer uniform. When he was done, his crow came flying through the window and almost straight into him.

"KAW, KAW YOU MUST MEET THE MASTER; KAW, KAW GIYUU TOMIOKA MEET WITH THE MASTER IMMEDIATELY"

Giyuu sighed, walking over to his bed and grabbing his half-and-half haori, one side red, and the other a yellow and green geometric pattern, and connecting his katana to the right side of his belt and making his way to the door. He exited his estate and began to walk swiftly to the master's meeting grounds.

When he arrived he heard two voices that sounded familiar arguing with each other. The Piller moved in closer to get into his usual spot when he figured out the voice belonged to the wind hashira Sanemi Shinazugawa, and his friend Tanjiro Kamado. Giyuu smiled on the inside, happy to see two people he cared about, then went to question why the three of them were called.

"Tomioka-San!" A cheerful young slayer called out, pulling the quiet one out of his thoughts to look over at Tanjiro. Tomioka wanted to greet the boy but he remembered that Shinazugawa was right there and he needed to keep his emotionless facade on, so instead he just nodded in acknowledgement. The young Kamado boy then went on to continue to talk to Tomioka even though he never spoke back. Shinazugawa stood in the corner keeping to himself and glaring at the two boys while waiting for the master to arrive.

"The master has arrived." Master Ubuyashiki's twin daughters said, and slid the door open helping the master walk out. Immediately the three slayers kneeled down acknowledging the master's presence and respecting him.

"Hello my children," The master spoke softly.

Shinazugawa lifted his head a bit to look at the master to greet him and wished him a good recovery. "If I may, can I ask why just the three of us were summoned?" He asked, slightly confused and a bit annoyed.

The master smiled and began to explain. "There is a very dangerous demon to the west of here. There have been romers of a lower moon resigning there. So, I am assigning the three of you to go there and defeat it,"

Tomioka was caught off guard to hear that the three of them had to go together, but didn't show it. On the other hand Shinazugawa made it very apparent that he did not like this idea. "Master with all due respect, why the three of us? The Kamado boy is just a lower ranked slayer, and I don't like Tomioka." He complained.

"Sanemi please, I'm assigning the three of you because I think you're the ones who can defeat it. Yes Tanjiro is not a piller and I see you and Giyuu don't get along but this can also be a bonding opportunity. Sanemi, it's important to have a good relationship with your fellow comrades." The master said softly, smiling.

Kamado lowered his head in respect for the master, "We hear you, thank you for allowing for a bonding opportunity, we will do as you ask." Despite Shinazugawa's annoyance he grunted in agreement.

"You all are dismissed, if you leave first thing in the morning you'll get there by sunset." The master said starting to turn away with the help of his young twins.

The three Demon Slayers said their goodbyes to the master as he left. When the master was no longer present Shinazugawa scoffed and also turned to leave. "Be ready an hour before the sun rises or I leave without you." Was his last words before heading back to his estate. Kamado shouted back at him in agreement, but he didn't care to acknowledge it.

Kamado Tanjiro then turned back to Tomioka to talk and hang out but he saw that he had already left. He down a bit disappointed he didn't get to talk to him that much but then decided that he needed to go tell his friends of his mission and get ready, so he went back to the butterfly mansion.

Back with the water piller, he reached his estate and went inside. He looked at the kitchen for a sec debating whether or not to eat, he ultimately decided not to. He went back up to his room and sat on his bed thinking about what master Ubuyashiki had said.

The three of them were gonna go on a mission together, it might be a bonding opportunity. Shinazugawa Sanemi, Kamado Tanjiro, and Tomioka Giyuu were all going to go on a mission to hunt a lower moon, maybe this could be the water pillers chance to finally get closer to the two. He was already good friends with Tanjiro but still. He wanted to know more about Sanemi though.

He has been wanting to for a while but due to the way he acts around all the hashiras made it hard, and Shinazugawa seemed to not like him. But thanks to the master's orders he will be able to at least fight alongside him. He was looking forward to the mission the next day, forgetting about the mention of a lower moon, he was so wrapped up in the thought of being able to be around the Wind Pillar.

He eventually left his estate to go train, he needed to be stronger to hopefully show that he could be of some use in the upcoming battle with a stronger demon.

Hi there! I'm back~ Mystery here to just tell you that I'm very sorry for the long period before uploading this. I get writer's block very often and it's hard to write but I'm getting better with it. Anyway this and probably the next chapter will be filler chapters then we'll finally get to the core of the story, the reason most of you will be reading this lol.
